Stones tells Everton he wants Man City transfer

wept. He wants to play at the best level he can in the most prestigious tournaments and with a chance of winning it. That should be what every driven footballer wants

Ambition is one thing... but this mad rush to fast-track a career to the next level is another. The is a long list of players who have over-reached themselves and damaged their reputations as a result. Personally I think he would benefit from at least another year under Koeman without the burden of a £50m price tag. Its a risk to chase this move now and get every error or below par performance dissected.

The key to successfully managing any career is to step up when you are ready… the problem is many young footballers let their inflated egos convince them they are ready too early. Time will tell on City but can you imagine the way the media would have crucified Stones if he'd been part of Chelsea's slump last year. Stones made the wrong call then and Everton rescued him its not a huge stretch to suggest he might have repeated the mistake.

He wanted chelsea last year, he wants man city this year
Lol
Sell him asap for the most we can.
One Greedy [Poor language removed].

He's in the infancy of his career.

Everton about to take huge strides and the Premier League has never been so tight.

He wants out?

Get rid then, ungrateful knob.

Have we ever had a player who handed two transfers requests in 2 summer windows?

The guy got no respect for the club and the fans, he just wants out but stones needs to remember that a club got to bid the correct value before he can leave. If man city don't bid enough then he should go nowhere.

He was cold all season and believes he better then the club. The player not even learnt how to be a proper defender yet. He rubbish in the air, rubbish at ball that come over his head. He got alot to learn.

Thing is though mate Stones has what 10 years of playing for England, could you honestly see Big Sam in that job for 10 years haha

Even if Sam is in the job until the World Cup, Stones style may make it difficult for him to get a regular game in an Allardice type team. Don't get me wrong...Stones is a good player, but Allardyce is one of the most thorough managers around...very big into stats, mental make up of players, etc. and this might cause Stones problems for England. One thing Allardyce won't do defensively is play the percentages...e.g....'Stones is good so we'll allow him the odd mistake when he's fannying around' Sam just won't put up with it.

What would you have us do though mate?

Demand Stones stay and stick him on a bench?

If he doesn't want to be here, cash in and sell him IMO

No, I would not keep him on the bench.

Yes, I would sell him for as much as we can get for him......which I made clear in my other post

Stones can go for all I care.

Letting Ken McNaught go was a bigger issue fir me than selling Stines as Ken was a proper centre half who commanded the box and actually won headers.

No, Mikey.

My gripe is with those among our own fans who come on here empathising with players rather than the club.

We all want to see our team higher up the league and winning things, or so I thought.

That would be a darned sight easier if players like Stones recognised the opportunity we gave him and at least tried to repay us in that regard by giving it another year or two under the new regime to see how it goes.

That is extremely idealistic if me I know, but in my world Everton FC is much bigger and way more important than the any player ergo my first priority is Everton winning things, not John Stones.

He had a bad run of games playing for a team out of form and not drilled properly. A young man who before that had performed superbly for two seasons. I'm surprised it took so long for him to have a bad patch.

Did we have a change of coach last season as well or was Stones found out? El Pricko helped boost his ego after a decent year, once that got bruised when his move to Chelsea dived so did his form, he couldn't even make a poor England team which included the guy he was supposed to replace at Stamford Bridge. Stones has so much to learn and could have done under Koeman, this is his choice wanting to leave my beloved Blues so he can go rot in a dark place

I'd love to see Stones turn into a world class player for us but I have my doubts about his ability to develop as a defender at a high level. It would not surprise me to see him play a little further up the pitch in a few years. I want luxury players playing up front, not in the back. I'd rather have a very good, hard nosed defender who can defend crosses and set pieces consistently well. If his departure means the ability to pay wages for 4 or 5 very good players (a CB being one of them), I'm all for it.

If what the echo are saying is true, then I feel sorry for Stones if Man City, or anyone else don't meet, or get close to our valuation of him, and he has to stay with us, especially with the amount of grief he's getting on here now.

I'm already waiting at the local petrol station Lou to throw my ginsters at the ungrateful beaut!

We sang a song about him staying.

What else did you want us to do whilst he was messing about in the 6 yard box?

Abuse the person providing a lack of defensive coaching perhaps? Understand that he was coached to not hoof the ball out no matter what pressure he was under?

FFS look at his age. Most people his age would walk after that amount of abuse. I quit jobs for lesser offences at that age!
