coarse it effects the game, when a team go 1-0 uo at Goodison and then start rolling around on the floor it massively effects the game. it gives us less time to come back. it happened to many times last season, Newcastle were terrible for it.

Part of the game though isn't it? Disrupt s teams flow. If someone gets fouled, you can't really punish a player for being "injured" as the ref has no idea the extent of the injury.

It effects the flow of a game if that's the game plan. But those things are already taken into consideration for stoppages hence it's called injury time.

What they're doing now is adding an extra minutes to cover the ball being out of play (throw ins) and goal celebrations on top of VAR reviews, subs, and injuries.

So you'll have games that will 100mins or 95mins or even less...even though you'd probably argue the game didn't have many stoppages as they're just adding time as they want. Which is why a lot of people seem to think it's a TV ploy.

It wont stop the 'momentum killer' injury though. Which teams like Arsenal & Newcastle use to best effect!
The opposition have a couple of shots in a short space of time! Someone goes down to allow them to re focus and kill the oppositions momentum

Exactly. It's part of the game. And should be allowed.

It's done to give the scab 6 clubs every opportunity to win. Nothing more. I predict those 6.club will claim more points this season between them than in any previous season.

It is like telling boxers, you aren't allowed to hold your opponent. I've seen good fighters completely nullified using this tactic and it is part of what makes sport special.

I know players like a whinge but Varane is right. An extra 5 minutes added to each game doesn’t sound a lot but it amounts to two extra games a season. Imagine if they waved that through with minimal consultation.

Think Harry Winks at the end of the Leicester game was saying they felt the additional minutes fitness wise. So he's right in that it'll add up over a season

There's a few things they should do.
1. After 80 minutes there's no added time for a sub.
2. VAR gets 15 seconds to make a decision if it's taking longer than that then it's not clear and obvious, put a stop to them mucking about with centimetres on an offside.
3. If a player goes down play doesn't stop but the physio/medic can go to them while play continues. Put a stop to players going down to waste time also gives quicker treatment to a player who actually needs it.

Shithousing done properly is an artform

Looks like another opportunity for the powers that be to manipulate the results for elite clubs. Just like VAR.

City losing 1-0 to Everton...12 mins injury time.
Everton losing 1-0 to City...4 mins injury time.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
