I thought Walsh and Koeman were the correct appointments at the time.

As we know we tried for Monchi and Brands also.

As you say, hindsight has proven they were both utter jokers, but I think most people were happy at the time of their appointments, of course not everybody was happy with Koeman and there were a few who werent happy with Walsh, but those same people probably arent happy with Brands and Silva and probably struggle to find any happiness with Everton unless they appoint Jose, Pep or peak SAF.

You've defeated your own argument by conceding that the depth is better now than it was 2 years ago, before Moshiri (and his wallet) bought the train set.

There was a reason we were shopping in the bargain bin. We had no cash. Any we had was generated by Martinez through sales / stockpiling his miserable yearly kitty.

He spent big on some players at the expense of other positions (Lukaku, McCarthy, Mori) but the gamble didn’t work. Moyes used his meagre funds better than Martinez did in terms of building a balanced squad.
