Course not, but we were on a downward trajectory. The defending was getting worse, as were his signings. He'd have taken us down. He had lots of good points and I liked the fella but things were getting worse and worse.

When layers start to tank games things get worse and worse. He had to go because of that.

Still head and shoulders above the dross we've had managing us since HK.

Laughable, wasn't just Baines who refused to play for Martinez, it was most of them. Barkley honest hahaha, he had no intention of signing another contract and over the last year an d a half engineered with his rat of an agent a way out of the club. Baines at his peak refused the chance to go to Man United, all he had to do was put in a transfer request like Stones or just refuse to talk to the club and ignore the plea's of the fans. And you accuse Baines of being disloyal, wow.

Baines wanted to go to United. He was stopped and he had a gob on him from that point.

He'll be regarded as a decent LB when he retires. But he couldn't defend and he didn't win a sausage.

Could we tempt Stones back from City? He's not getting a look in this second half of the season and won't want to be sat on his arse for the next few years. Otamendi and Kompany are now the selected partnership for Pep. Even if Stones was interested City would want big cash, maybe even close to what they paid us.
