Summer 2018 Transfer Window

He had two years to run on his deal. He would never have left for nothing.
Still think we had to sell him, He clearly wanted to go and he would have thrown a strop if we didn't let him go and would have gone for cheaper if we kept him another season.

The thing with multis mate, is that they`re very predictable.

They are always at their most active at certain times of the year, particularly around transfer windows and no matter how hard they try to disguise who they are, they always get the hammer in the end.

Soon :coffee:

You ever took a step back mate and thought on why is there negativity when transfer windows come along?

Like why would an Everton fan be negative around this time of year? Something to do with the pollen, or is it the fact the clubs fails miserably at it.

Same with stadiums, people are sceptic about Bramley Moore not because some barmy reason but for the simple fact we’ve failed at three in less than 20 years.

Then again that would be logical and doesn’t fit into the cult on here.

Cult GOT.

Where negativity is swiftly met with false accusations, heads going into sand and other general tinfoil hat behaviour.

But when you're claiming things that are untrue like 'we sold Lukaku for less than market value' when at the time we sold him he was a joint-record fee, it's hard not to bite tbf...

The issue wasn't selling him. It was selling him without having a replacement in.

We clearly thought we could get Giroud, but it was mental not to have the player (whoever it was) already in/all-but done by the time Rom left.

And as much as we can slate Koeman - rightly so - that was on Walsh. It was his job to get the deals over the line.

Thankfully, there seems that there will be more cohesion between Brands and Silva.

Joint record fee, Ronaldo and Bale were higher.

Neymar went about a week later for over double in the same market period.

Do you get how market rent works?

He would never have thrown a strop during a WC year.

We paid £30m for Keane in the last year of his contract, Man Utd paid £30m for Sanchez with 6 months to run on his contract and Chelsea paid us £15m for Barkley with 6 months to run on his contract.

He should never have been sold, but Moshiri is all about selling our best players. Jordan Pickford will be the next big departure.

We sold Lukaku for £90m including add ons. The majority of those add ons will have been met already.

So no, Ronaldo and Bale weren't higher. And the thing about Neymar was what kicked it all off last summer. After we sold Lukaku.

And no I don't get how 'market rent' works. But I'm sure you can explain it to me.

I will only start getting concerned about transfer activity, or lack of it. When our targets mentioned by the reputible sources (joyce, hunter, bascombe, king) begin moving elsewere.

Until then im fairly happy with the calibre of player we are showing interedt in

In fairness, those are only reliable because they're fed info by us.

Castles is definitely fed info from Utd/Mourinho, so that Shaw story could well be true. There's no need at all for United to namedrop us if it isn't.

EVERTON and BOURNEMOUTH. Both wanted Tierney at Celtic. Would have paid 25. Now both looking at the excellent Laxalt as an alternative. - Alan Nixon.

Not sure if mentioned already.

This 100% all the players strongly linked have still not moved and we seem to be identifying players in similar positions lb, cb and midfield.
I hope that there will be a mass in and out very soon.

Barkley ran his contract down. What can Moshiri do? Let Barkley plays in the reserve and let him leave for free? It does not make sense.
