Again, as above, they’re senior players and need selling BUT they’re not ever going to train or play with the seniors so I think saying we have X amount in the senior squad is a little misleading.

Surely they were included in the original figure that Silva gave when talking about the size of the squad though, so not including them would be the misleading thing, because it would give the impression we'd managed to trim the squad more than we actually have because we've just stopped counting some of them?

No idea, hasn’t Walcott been injured, seem to remember a video of him training with a plastic boot? Holgate seems to have done bits, but that’s it. Again Silva said he was gonna be important. Maybe it’s just dropping the intensity so they’re available for a week on Saturday?

I suppose it depends what the point of the list was. I thought the poster was making the point that we still needed to reduce the number of senior players on the books in order to free up space and wages. On that basis it's right to include them because just pretending they don't exist doesn't give an accurate reflection of where we actually stand.

If the point of the post was to talk about how many players were going to be actually expecting to get on the pitch then yes I agree, we don't really need to count them.

Defeats to Wimbledon, Rangers & draws against lower league Villa, a poor sociadad and a couple of scraped 1-0ers

Pretty obvious Silva does not concentrate on results to much pre season, granted they are not 4-1 & 3-0 defeats but Silva had much longer time to work with the players, and Watford started the season all guns blazing

We all said 3/4 max in this summer, we have got 2 and they are both in positions we needed to upgrade significantly

I dont understand the meltdown, i dont understand people saying we need 5/6 in? yes we need a centre back (which we are trying to do). yes we need a centre mid (which we are trying to do.
For me, that should be it until January

..that makes me feel a bit better, but it is the performances that concern me more than the results. We have looked ineffective at both ends of the pitch.
