Or that the press are just making stuff up. Seriously, if Brands is coming, or even if we are waiting for the possibility of him coming, none of these rumors are credible.
 

I'll get stick no doubt but I'd have Rondon from West brom everyday of the week as a squad player.

His goal scoring record is actually really good throughout his career in decent leagues, very good with his back to goal, links up play very well, great touch, strong as an ox and pretty fast. The way he absolutely battered and bullied our back line in the last game was quite something albeit he was up against dross. A very good and potentially cheapish recruitment. A player I like a lot.

Big job this summer. hardest bit will be the clear out. Be honest some players will be hard to shift and I think we'll just have to be sensible and take anything even if it is buttons.

Id keep jagielka as long as he's not an automatic starter. Similarly Baines as back to a shiny new left back. Think ripping out two proper club men is naive in transition.

However that leaves:

Williams
Martina
Stekelenburg
Garbutt
Mirallas
Sandro (I'd give him more time but he wants out)
Niasse - not good enough despite heart
Mccarthy - too injury prone I'd take the money
Bolasie - jesus wept

There's 9 players straight off the bat, be difficult to shift everyone. Fifa this ain't.

The elephant In the room is Schneiderlin. I may get stick for this but I'd possibly give him one last chance. If somehow we got rid of all the above we'd be left with a much smaller (not necessarily a bad thing), younger squad with a few new players to bed in. Hopefully the new manager will be more progressive and not play gana and Schneiderlin as a two anywhere near as much. Especially against weaker teams. As an either or he's not a bad squad player. Provided he's motivated.
