I can see why Silva said we'll need another "preseason" starting now.

How good this late influx of players will be remains to be seen, but it's terrible timing with these deals.

Come on Dave, we all would want the players in 1st day of the window opening but i don't think we can say it's terrible timing.

Terrible timing would be not getting the required players in, so if we get in 1/2 quality additions in thr last 3 days who will make a massive difference in the long term well I'm fine with that

Imagine opposition full backs when they see Richarlison coming at them, Digne one he overlap and Bernard drifting in midfield. It’s a better prospect than DCL trying to find Cuco Martina to cross to Wayne Rooney who is actually back on the halfway line.

Get Mina and a CDM in and its been a very good transfer window in fairness (hinges on Mina deal for me though)

Would still love a top drawer CF coming in though out of the blue like a Batshuyai or Willian Jose.

You seem to be under the illusion that clubs sign players at the exact point of their choosing during the window. That's not how it works. Do you really believe we won't have been trying to sign centre backs since day one? Deals happen when they happen. Signing attacking players doesn't mean we've been leaving our defence until the last minute; it's just the way it's worked out.

If #EFC manage to pull off an ambitious move for one of these players it will likely spell the end for Morgan Schneiderlin, who has offers from France, this could be done after our deadline. Muhamed Bešić is also likely to be moved on with Championship clubs in for him.
