I see your point but don't agree. Any opportunity to strengthen then starting XI should be taken. Bernard clearly does that.

I'm not against him. His wages will be enormous like and if he flops it'll be a financial nightmare to solve.

Apparently a board member who for the purposes of this post we will call Phill Barbiewrong, was making a dogs dinner of transfer negotiations and Brands had to step in, bench and take the lead in negotiations in the last few weeks.

Tend to agree with this, focus should have been on two centre backs, left back and centre mid. Let Dowell develop this season with view to being regular starter next season.
