Are people still desperately clinging to that connection?

Really let's be honest we haven't looked any closer to doing anything with money than we were under Moyes. I think the issue is that unless you can attract the world quality players, then your always going to struggle against the bigger sides. If that chance fell to a top quality striker instead of DCL, we would of been 1-0 up. While the offside decision contributed, we still should of scored at least one goal yesterday. We'll always struggle against the better sides if we can't take the limited chances we get.

Neves from Wolves maybe?

He'd be my choice though wolves have huge cash reserves and so we may be reliant on Brandalf to conjure one up for us.

For me, its the key position...knitting together Defence and Midfield.

Other positions need to be strengthened too of course but i think a top DM would be crucial.

Dunno, but i know he was an attacking mid there and at Zenit has developed into a deeper playmaker.

Strong in the tackle. Great passing. Quick feet and no slouch.

He was a deep player at Empoli which is his position. Couldn’t get in ahead of De Rossi/Pellegrini so sold him for a profit when Zenit went all Argentina last summer.
