So we funded last season with Lukaku and now we have no prized assets left so we have to sell circa 12.

Sensible but not that fairytale Moshiris and Bill men in the media portrayed.

Think we can bin the idea of top signings then.

Yet again we’ve been painted a false picture.

Pretty much.......still, if Mosh isn't going to dig deep I'd sooner see us work this way than put ourselves at needless risk .

Given the latest windfall accruing to CL clubs it's just futile even hoping to match their spending power.

I'll go out on a limb here and say most won't budge unless prospective new clubs can match the salaries already being earned. Baines, Jags and Wiliams still contracted for one more year I think. Mirallas 2 years left. Its tricky to shift the likes of these.

Loans, with part payment of salary is what I can see for a good few of them.

I don't think anybody with any sense thinks we're 'flush'.

We have money, but not tons of it.

We have to be more sensible with any money we have (from sales or investment) than we were last year.

Everybody has been saying it.

Doesn't mean we can't or won't get the quality in. Nobody is saying that. It just means we need to bin 10 off as well.

It’s what you believe mate at this point that’s important, I’m just stating an opinion.

I’m not trying to win hearts and minds. I see some red flags this window let’s see how it plays out. We will be relying on player trading in the main, with limited cash flow to support it, which isn’t ideal in my opinion.

I get the feeling you guys just need a clearout summer with only two or three really smart buys. Just to stabilise and get the feeling of a new smarter project. Very similar to our 15/16 summer which was basically a whole sale for us.

It's definitely possible to get rid of the waste, as you can see by this list. You just need to accept losing money on some sales but the sheer volume of the sales should give some nice money to spend anyway.

If we have to sell to buy then this process of cutting deadwood could take a window or two before we can start to go forward again.
If we could maintain a push for 7th whist this happens & play a style of football that means i wont instantly groan at a duff pass then i can accept that.
The rot is deep rooted. I don't expect this to be a quick fix.

This season was always going to be about rebuilding and stabilising mate, anything else is just a bonus.

Thanks for posting mate, thought as much, we are not as flush as most think.

We have enough money to compete with the second tier but the true top spenders of United City and Chelsea are untouchable
