Probably been posted but self styled Newcastle itk says this. Must be something in it if a Newcastle fan is throwing it out there.

78 million spent net in four transfer windows Moshiri is here.

That an average of 19 odd million per window net.

We finished with 70 million net spent in last season's two transfer windows and a further 22 million net spent in the two before that. Also add another 10 million from the fact we had to give 20% of the stones money to Barnsley so in actual fact it's around 100 million over 4 Windows.

With the wage bill significantly increasing also.

Ok mate.

I’ll stuck with my figures, Im pretty sure of them.

What does it mean to say there are 38 players in the squad? Given you can only register 25 are the rest in the under 23s/18s? How do they decide who counts?

I remember how easily it seemed Spurs got rid of all the players they bought with the Bale money who flopped. Do you all think that was all down to Levy being a wizard, or maybe is it not really that hard to move players who need to be moved?

Seemed too easy to me at the time as well. Although part of it was that we bit the bullet and took a pretty hefty loss on some of those flops to get rid of them. Totally worth it though.

Well that would be a surprise and excellent news. Newcastle fans really love him, hopefully we can fit him in our defense more smoothly than Keane. I think we will need one more centerback with a bit more experience for next season.

Makes a refreshing change from the last couple of years of those idiots shouting from the roof tops how much we had to spend only to be held to ransom by teams seeing how desperate we were and calling our bluff. Even in this inflated market, we overspent on the majority of players we signed under Koeman, save for probably Gueye, Lookman, Sandro and Vlasic, and each of them either came from lesser leagues or or had clauses in their contract.

For what it's worth, I think Allardyce, for his faults, got 2 decent deals, especially if Tosun was the cheaper end of the scale as was revealed later on, some speculating it was as little as £15m plus add ons.

The best thing you can do if you have the money is to spend it like you don't. Apart from the fact that at the end of the day it is a business, it also keeps people guessing and aspiring for more rather than being content to sit on their arses on massive wages thinking they've got it made.

The difference between competing and being taken for a ride is more and more difficult with the way agents work, and so using our last 2 years over extravagance and subsequent failure as a genuine, logical reason behind us not having the money to waste again, is a smart move.
Good post that.

The first column of the transfers in fron the 17/18 season is wrong there mate. The total says 168,300,000, where what the total should be going off those figures is around the 195,000,000 Mark. That's probably where the difference between mine and your figure has come from.

What figures do you think are incorrect in the link mate? They seem all bang on to me.

I think even with your figures it’s 25 mill a window net as opposed to my 19mill, in the context it’s not huge. It’s probably pretty much on a par or just below the revenue raised in the new TV deal.

I’m not doubting Moshiri investment it’s 150 mill, I think the huge investment in transfer fees in a bit of a falicy though, it’s all been a bit of smoke and mirrors and essentially sell to buy with minor investment covered by increased Tv etc.

I’m not necessarily ciriticising that approach I’m just pointing it out as the reality, doesn’t reflect the popular narrative that huge sums have been made available for transfers.
