Not once did I say we didn’t?

It’s sensible to do so.

It’s also reasonable to understand that we aren’t “Billionares” like some of our idiotic fans chanted.

We will be a well run ship and that’s great all I asked for instead of Kenwrights reign of terror but we weren’t sold that were we?
We've never been 'sold' anything by Moshiri , only in his words "would never be short of money" while he's here.(cant argue with that)
Not sold anything at all tbh.

Out:

Wayne Rooney
Davy Klassenn
Morgan Schneiderlin
No Besic
Cuco Martina
James McCarthy
Kevin Mirallas
Oumar Niassé
Ashley Williams
Yannick Bolasie
Phil Jagielka
Leighton Baines
Martin Steklenburg
Sandro Ramirez

Am I missing anyone?

Incredible that it was allowed to get so bad. Lose 14, bring in 5.

Agree with most of those, just can't see Jags and Baines going aswell.

Mori, Garbutt and Galloway are all going too.

That lot must be on a combined total of around £900k/wk, add in a few more like Pennington, Browning, Garbutt, Galloway and I wouldn’t be surprised if it would be pretty close to £1m/wk. £52m a year we’re pretty much spunking away.

We could bring in a minimum of £65m for them (fairly low estimate) and must have some sort of transfer budget already, let’s say £55m (just as an estimate).

That’s £120m to buy 5 players who could all easily be paid over £100k a week (and that would have reduced our wage bill substantially).

You’d like to think with those sort of resources available that Brands would be able to pick some top players out considering what he was able to do at PSV who must have had far less and also didn’t have the pull of the premier league to sell to players.

We need quality, not quantity.

...it’s Wednesday 6th June and here’s the Everton transfer related gossip from this morning’s news outlets;

- Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Marco Silva said Everton don’t need a deluge of new players: “I don’t want, and the club doesn’t need to sign a large number of players. It’s not what we need to do, we need to sort out the number of players first and then be assertive and attack the market, take the right decisions and sign the right players for us to come here and improve the squad”.

- The Guardian quote Marcel Brands suggesting the playing squad needs culling to free up funds for Silva: “First of all we need to offload players to raise money (for transfers), and also salary wise. But it is not only a money thing. Of course money is important, but also, for a coach, it is not workable to start with 38 players in your squad”. The predicament Brands is bracing himself for is those who are on huge salaries insisting they will stay.

- Daily Mail journalist, Dominic King, suggests Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is one of the players who could be sold. The Mirror says Everton will look to offload as many as 12 players.

- SportsLens website pick up on reports linking Everton with Real Sociedad striker, Willian Jose. Apparently the 26 year old has a €60m release clause in his contract.

- According to The Daily Mirror, RB Leipzig have held initial talks about signing Everton’s 20 year old winger, Ademola Lookman, on a permanent deal. Spurs and Southampton are also said to be interested.

- MadAboutEPL website report Everton are prepared to break the bank for the signature of £50m rated West Ham forward, Marko Arnautovic.

- A number of outlets say Leicester are leading Everton in the race to sign young Norwich playmaker, James Maddison, and a £20m deal could be concluded in days.

Very pleased that we aren't trying to sign felipe anderson. Looks like he could be headed to west ham for 40M(!). Hes a bang average player. I've seen quite a bit of him and if he wasn't Brazilian, he would be worth about 15-20M. Lozano is 10 times the player he is tbh.

Every team bar City has to sell to buy to some extent. As soon as the RS signed VVD and agreed a deal for Kieta they conveniently sold Coutinho to Barca . It’s all about balancing the books. Thanks to Koeman and Walsh we have an aging squad of very average players on obseen money. I have no problem with selling them and re-investing that back into the team.

..like other windows since Moshiri came in, I expect there is a transfer spend envelope that Brands/Silva are aware of and this figure can be topped up with any monies accumulated via outgoings.
