Not saying it’s likely but there’s 3 players not currently regular 1st teamers for their respective clubs I’d be all over.
Rose
Loftus-Cheek
Rashford

Leicester sign Evans for £3 million whilst we debate if gash like Williams and Klaassan can "do a job" in Silva's 4-3-3 system. Sigh.

I take your point however if you factor in his wages which would probably be around the £70k per week mark the potential profit upon sale after 2 years is minimal.

The flip-side of the argument being we get his service for 2 years then recoup our investment.

However I think from a sustainable business model we should be looking to buy players at an intermediate price and pay an intermediate wage. The payoff being that these players develop under Brands and Silva and exponentially increase their value giving us the comfortable position of either being able to offer them better more lucrative contacts when its time to renew or selling them on for a massive profit.
The only way your paying an average price and average wage, is if
1) you take a punt on a academy player
2) you scout outside of Italy Germany Spain and england

The transfer model is there, buy young keep for a few seasons and then sell high.

Shaqiri is essentially a free transfer. Buy for 12m. Sell in 2 years for a profit. In today's market shaqiri is a 20m player.

But it’s not £12m. You then have signing on fees, agents fees, wages, bonuses. After two years, we’ll have spent more than 20m on him, probably closer to £30m. Id rather keep that money and put it towards someone younger, who will be with us for longer and likely to be worth more than shaq will be in a few years. Someone like Lozano.

Imagine being quite clearly jealous of Leicester signing Jonny Evans.

Get a grip.

Evans at £3 million is an absolute snip in the current market tbf mate.

Some fans are more happy tugging themselves over Brands 3 piece clobber "doh aint eee look like da boss doh" than actually questioning why the club dont seem to be making moves to get the vital signings done before the WC when around half the league have made atleast 1 signing already.

Silva has had half a season watching us and we have been in discussions with Brands for weeks so its not like they have only just been aware of the squads strengths and requirements needed imo.

Anno mate. I probably won’t sleep worrying.

25 weeks of Klassens salary.

Don’t get the big thing about Evans. He’s one of those players people only reckon is good because he’s a MOTD favourite and the media decided he was good. Let’s be honest most on here saw him play twice this season aaaaand his team were crap and went down. Swerve.

Well I dont think we have a choice, personally.

As always I assume that the people in charge can see beyond what I can.
Tend to agree we need a CB, LB and CM and that’s what I’d spend the cash on but.. is there an argument that if we spend big it should be on some attackers? Attack is the best form of defence and all that? Liverpool did well with that philosophy to turn their fortunes around. If we had a couple of speed merchants up top that would certainly make opposing teams more wary and potentially take the pressure off the defence? Either way we defo need some reinforcements at the back.
