@ breden rodgersSinclair from Celtic, come on mate you have to be aiming higher than that. Bolasie would look like Maradona in the Scottish league.
Liverpool have just got to a CL final, finished top 4 and have one of the biggest managers in the game at the helm, we're not gonna be going for that calibre of player. Liverpool couldn't have until recently
We overreached 2 summers ago (Witsel, Mata, Koulibaly) and got embarrassed, so the utter fannies played it safe last summer and mostly went for players with clubs and agents we knew could work with, hence all the overpriced crap players from this league (or the manager's former club)
Hopefully having a DOF with good contacts and a slimeball of an agent will help us broaden our horizons a bit, but we still won't be competing with them lot for players
I hope we are shopping at a better level than West Ham & Leicester.
They have a habit like ourselves of buying what look like exciting players and they don’t fit, long may it continue for them.
I’m being patient, as suspect it’ll take time to identify the right players to fit Marco’s system.
I'm struggling a bit to see anything 'in' before the World Cup ends. Hope to be proved wrong there though.
Don´t think we are. Could be argued they have more money than us to spend this summer.
This....anyone who thinks one season is enough to repair the damage inflicted on us by the board and our last 3 managers is going to be disappointed. What happens if one of our "dead wood " players doesn't want to move and is content to stay here ?I believe that the problems of finance this summer result from overpayment on transfer fees and over-large salaries which were sanctioned, rashly, by the board, or by Moshiri himself, in a bid to break into the top four or five clubs in the league table in a single season. (The window Moshiri spoke of.)
Walsh and Keoman made bad choices; the board, or Moshiri, made bad financial decisions. I doubt there is any way for us but slow and steady improvement, and keeping costs in check. (Got to pay for a ground, too.)
For Ake see Holgate/ feeney. For cresswell> Robinson/Gibson
Wanyama>Beni
Sinclair> Lookman/Dowell
Basically I would rather give the kids ago, than waste one penny on that lot
Feel sorry for em when this happens
I know that. And wanyama is a decent player, my point was that spurs would want huge money and he’s not worth it. And all the four players mentioned would be a waste of money.Baningime is nothing like Wanyama.
I definitely think we'll get some in before July 15th mate.
Depends who, though.
If we do indeed go for Lozano, it won't be until after his World Cup has ended, at least.
I thought Brands kept mentioning wanting business done by July 2? I'm pretty sure, paraphrasing him, that he said he's trying to get the squad in shape to start work as soon as those who will still be here get back.I'm struggling a bit to see anything 'in' before the World Cup ends. Hope to be proved wrong there though.
I'd be happy with just one to be honest. No way we're shifting them all out.This....anyone who thinks one season is enough to repair the damage inflicted on us by the board and our last 3 managers is going to be disappointed.
