Why would they request a transfer and loss a percentage of the transfer fee??

They will be told by there agents to sit tight, they are a decent wage which they might not get at another club.

The agents will be rubbing there hands joyfully at this situation.

If Cleverly left for 1st team football, then surely others would?

I think in this predicament i'd take well below market value for some of our players. That may sound odd. But it's not transfer funds we are low on. It's wages for anyone new we may want.
So, just for example, if Klaassen went for £10m i'd be ok despite the loss. The saving on his wages would suffice.

I don't know if any of that made sense, but I know what i mean! Basically to attract buyers we may have to sell cheaper.

I'd agree here the money we spent on transfer fees last summer is sunk cost.

We are not going to fix our problems in one window it will take several and these players are better than what we currently have and were only suggestions, I don't know how people on here get their info but some seem to know it all. Its weird talking about our level of ambition with some of the absolute rubbish we currently have - what ambition do they show ? We are a higher mid-table team at the moment, we cannot get elite players but we can still progress using so called "lesser" players then build from there.

We signed Cleverley on a free and sold him for "undisclosed" so we may have paid them to take him for all we know, I think "undisclosed" will feature in our cull of the squad.

not gonna lie, if I was a Liverpool fan I'd be giving it beans as well with some of the signings they have made

yeah their defence may not be the best but lets face it with the attack and midfield that they have they won't need to defend

there is a reason why most Liverpool games they have 40 shots and their opponents have about 2

think its more about our total lack of ideas, structure or coherence, tbh.

I suspect if we sold off each and every current player, they would almost all save maybe Pickford perform better elsewhere

Two of our best signings (Pickford, Gana) came from relegation fodder, have been banging the drum about Utd rejects for years, dunno much about Scottish farmers, sorry.

I pray we're looking further afield for players than these shores. Just read Spurs have been quoted 70m for Zaha and 40m for Grealish. No doubting Zaha is a fine player but 70m? I get that to Palace he is worth that and more because without him they are relegation fodder but still and £40m for a player who's done ok in the Championship but never looked committed or up to it in the prem. It's mental! Hopefully the rumours of the likes of Carvahlo and Lozano being targets is a sign we're being sensible for a change.

Grealish aint going anywhere for 40 mil mate, it`s just a figure plucked out of the air by lazy journos.

Villa need to have a fire sale, due to the financial mess their in and I`d say that " no reasonable offer " would be refused for any of their players.

Plus, could you imagine Grealish let loose in London !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Klassen is on circa 80k per week plus a hefty loyalty bonus he will be paid per year of his contract.

Do you honestly think he will take a massive wage cut for just first team football?
