We have been linked to him for years, what are the chances he leaves Monaco after one season after spending so long at Anderlecht

Great player

Top player, should have gone for him and Dendoncker 12months ago...then we wouldn't be concerned with signing a new midfield.

Hopefully Brands can find 'the new' Tielemans....

Loftus-Cheek would be a great signing but I can’t see Chelsea selling and if they do loan him out then surely he’d want to go back to Palace where he’s already had a successful season and is down South.

RLC is going to cost someone anywhere between £35 - £50m you would guess.

It’s a lot of money but that is the price young English talent move for.

I’m hoping Brands has the network & list of targets that might be a little more under the radar but equally as talented.

I don’t really care about the money side of things all being said, the finances in the game are frankly ridiculous.

I can’t get my head around why grown men are arguing over the Funes-Mori fee - does it matter to us?

Dont beleive any of these media links, not the one.

..yep, I think you get a feel for the ones that reporters make tenuous links to because Silva has managed them before or because Brands has dealt with them in the past. Silva actually said a few weeks he had not discussed or suggested signing any players in the Portuguese league, yet we continue to be linked with signing Sporting Lisbon and Benfica players.

Brands says his phone is permanently ringing with agents trying to get deals for their clients so I also imagine many of those agents start rumours with press to raise the profile of their players.

Saying that, signings are usually preceded by a link so the rumours are a bit of interest.

Agreed basically we need to lower it by 50-60 m to enable us to sign players silva and brands want, making our new wage bill 30m less than our current one. Numbers are examples obviously

This is exactly it, the wage bill needs to come down by at lest 40 -60 million to be operating healthily.

I think its also important to be aware of the book price of players. For example Mori, his book price to the club was 4.7 mill, with two years remaining on his contract. If we got what we paid for him 9 off million, then we have actually banked a profit and saved a wage. Net spends in and outs are useless really.

Someone like Klassen will have a high book price so is more difficult to shift and bring in a profit.
