Barkley did that to himself. If he had a brain he would have still been at the club playing an important role in our midfield. He doesn’t deserve any sympathy.

RLC is going to cost someone anywhere between £35 - £50m you would guess.

It’s a lot of money but that is the price young English talent move for.

I’m hoping Brands has the network & list of targets that might be a little more under the radar but equally as talented.

I don’t really care about the money side of things all being said, the finances in the game are frankly ridiculous.

I can’t get my head around why grown men are arguing over the Funes-Mori fee - does it matter to us?

If we could land a 22 year old England international who could be performing well for us over 10 years then we should snap their hands off...

The Echo is about the same as listening to some Turkish lad on the way home from the pub so doubt the have a clue either of what's going on. unless the club come out and say a price it's all speculation.

Where else is he going to go that is competitive and not sit on the bench which is the reason he would leave Chelsea in the first place? The only place i can think is us or WHU or Palace given he was there lst year and may be comfortable in that environment.

I like RLC, I suggested him last summer and in the window before that.

He is only 18 months younger than Ross.

However compare his breakout season to Ross in his last season playing with us.

Not even close. Barkley, who was slated every week by Koeman, had almost double the output of RLC in almost every category.

Can’t say I’ve ever watched RLC, so can’t really comment, but I’m hoping that between Brands & Silva, they’ll come up with some bargains, rather than pay over the odds for British players. While at the same time bringing the best British (& overseas) kids we can get into our academy, so we can profit in future. Like the PSV business model.

RLC is the new flavour of the month. Ok player but his value will never be higher than now. Conte loaned him out and bought Drinkwater and Barkley and preferred Bakayoko. He can’t get ahead of Henderson or Dier for England. He may not have even made the squad were it not for Lallana. Let’s not be the stupid club that pays the big fee Chelsea want then we find he really is the player who sometimes couldn’t get into Palace’s side.

If it's 30 million then it makes no sense at all. In fact Chelsea would have had our pants down in light of the Barkley fiasco.
