Sorry mate, but all I see is a player with no pace, no bottle and the positional sense of a 7 yr old kid.
He has plenty of pace, it’s his anticipation and agility that are lacking. Not sure how bright he is, either. But he shouldn’t be slotted in as a starter, that’s for sure.

It doesn't matter - once Everton pushed the Sam Allardyce panic button then it told every player what the club is in terms of ambition and competence. A young player cast out because of a short term stupid appointment of a footballing dinosaur - why would Lookman have faith in the club in the long term now?

That's now the problem. It's not petulance; it's being smart about your career - Everton is no longer an attractive career prospect for a promising footballer and it'll take time to repair that damage.

I agree with that bit mate, despite us playing so many youngsters the past 18 months or so. We are probably seen as a West Ham or Newcastle (ironicly 2 teams Allardyce has managed) in terms of developing players and giving them a try.
Its been such a presure pot it would be hard for a young upcoming player thinking, that looks fun

barkley was hyped up because he was "one of us"

he was never talented enough

his level is mid table prem at best

the guy can't control a pass to save his life and his passing range was awful at times
Yes your right mate Barkley can’t pass to save his. 2 yrs ago at 22. Playing fir a mid table team he got 25 goals & assists combined. The type of stats, wilshere, the Ox , lingard, Loftus cheek would die for. And the cockney media would be wanking over them.

Last year, even though he got dropped at times , and slagged by the manager every week. He was only behind. De Bruyne, Eriksen, Ozil and Hazard. For creating chances. Also created more chances & key passes than any 23 yr old player and under for the big 5 European leagues. But he can’t pass.

But let’s carry on chatting [Poor language removed]. Can’t believe the amount of Everton fans who slag him off. The rest of the country do a good Job of that for us.

He had his faults, but was/is a very good player, that would walk into our team.

I think that's revisionist honestly. When Ross was coming up, his talent was undeniable. He was strong, pacy, couple play with both feet and had a pretty good shot.

The bits between the ears was where the questions always were layed and the hope was, with experience, he could get everything together.

The most common way to describe him here was along the lines of "all the tools without a toolbox"

But to say he had no talent, imo, is blatantly false.

Over the last 10 years, Everton have signed 52 senior players in summer transfer windows, with players signed for the youth teams over the years not included in these figures.

But only six of those 52 had been signed at this point in all of those previous windows, June 25th.
Would have to imagine most of those were last summer as well.
