Summer transfer speculative hopes and dreams

I think this thread is working quite well, but the other not so much.

So many warnings, so many non-mods policing, so much jarg and off topic. So little credibility.

Can we have more thread banning there please? The message doesn't seem to getting through.

And I posted this here, so as not to be hypocritical in the other thread...

And can I say the mods are doing a great and thankless job, let's make it easier for them.

to;dr no more warnings please.
I personally think there shouldn't be the other thread.
Just an hourly update by someone who can be trusted to post the real links.
Then all discussion of the "links" should be done in here.

I wouldn't say 'beaten' us. All links between us and those players are speculation and not confirmed (only one Italian paper stated we put a bid of 16m euros for Shakiri and Stoke outbid us) none of this is confirmed so we may not have been overly interested. If there is no bid from us we can't be 'beaten' to a player
Confirmed by who? The club? Since when do they ever confirm anything. Deulofeu was done days before there was an announcement and that was a signing.

It was Sky Italia that reported the two figures.

I'm banned from the other thread for using a pun, and I mainly stick to topic unlike loads of others who persistently post despite warnings and was never warned per se !! I have stats too, sad is it may be !!

Not really arsed but a modicum of fairness and consistency should be applied.

I can actually understand the West Ham one from a 'footballing mercenary' perspective, and if Ogbonna does go there then it shows his mentality for what it is and it's a bullet dodged as far as I'm concerned.

Shaqiri has me utterly baffled though. Can't understand that one at all.

In fairness, i'm not overly fussed we're missing out on Ogbonna either. I think there are lots of better defenders available out there.

Ok. West Ham are looking like they're going to sign our 'top defensive target' (according to the Echo).

And who can be trusted?

Just report all the links. There isn't that many of them. We're big boys. We can decide which we think are reliable or not.

Isn't it against the rules to post something about another thread?

But apart from that I agree. Forget about the credibility aspect, that just brings confusion. Keep it to links and then everyone is happy. Seriously how many links even the obviously jarg ones are there to wade through each day. A page worth at most.

That's what people want. The ability to quickly scan who we have been linked to. Not pages of us talking about it.
You can use newsnow for that though. People want to share opinions about players we're linked with whether they're realistic or not. I guess that's what this thread is for.
I'm hoping we do some more business before the Asian trophy.

masses of quotes from martinez saying ogbama is no.1 target - masses

I wasn't aware of newsnow. Frankly I think the two threads work.

If that's the case I just think the moderators need to then make the decision on a link before we start chatting about it on the other thread. Anything that's either not about approved players or a link gets thread banned.

Simple and straight forward.

All the moaning about the moderation annoys the hell out of me and now I'm doing it.

Isco + morata stake for Bonucci was yesterdays rumour.

Also cant remember how much isco went for but it was euro of course.

Sorry, €32millon, two years ago. So around £25million (ish). He's worth at least £40mil, in my opinion. I doubt Real will even sell. There's no way they'd give away their stake in Morata and let Isco leave for Bonucci. Any rumour that involves a swap deal is usually fabricated, or mostly at least.

Suprised we havnt been linked to that yarmelenko, looks a cracking player and bobby certainly got a good look at him! tho if it was down to shaqiri or mertens, would def take mertens think he’d fit in much better, shaqiri seems on and off more then a light bulb thats why both big leagues he’s moved 2 dont seem to want to keep him around, then again it is mancini!! think mertens could fit in any role across midfield tho!

During the season I am a very amicable football fan, but in the transfer window I turn into a proper armchair hooligan. Intensely hate these filthy disgusting clubs trying to nick our targets. Nevermind 95% of transfer reporting being utter bull, the hate is real nonetheless.
Could it be that the sport of Transfer Window has overtaken actual footy in terms of excitement, partisan support and general madness?
