Summer transfer speculative hopes and dreams

Mods : It's the Daily Mail.

They broke the Deulofeu story and the Shaqiri story. It seems like they're the most credible source.

None of these stories tell you the source.

It's basically random or if you don't like the story then off it goes.

So post it here first and if it gets traction it can be moved across - it's got nothing to do with the subject matter, we have made it very clear on many occasions.

Isnt that for the other thread? Its all so confusing.

Anyway, i imagine we will see some action before tuesday...just a feeling more than anything based on the trip to SG.

Day before mail had the story of us getting "character references' from his previous teams and that we were going to make a bid
That still doesn't answer the question. Why print the story.

Stoke have had a 17m offer accepted. Everton have also bid 16m.

Your argument was to force Stoke to up their offer which makes no sense.

Face it you are clutching at straws or any load of waffle just because you don't want to accept or admit we bid less than Stoke. When the reality is we bid less than Stoke because we knew the player would choose us. I don't have an issue with it.

Whats the timing on all of this? did we put in an offer before we signed Deulofeu?

But you haven't made that clear. You made clear that certain papers like the echo, metro are to be considered to be not trusted.

But the Times, Guardian and the Daily Mail are more trustworthy. It's as clear as mud. Since the Daily Mail broke both the Deulofeu and Shaqiri stories which have turned out true (but yet where considered jarg here at the time) I think they're credible.

If it was a simply rule that all rumors where posted here and then the mods elevated them then that would work much better.

Thing is for me.
I have a sneaky look at the transfer thread while I'm at work. Using my phone.
If I have to start flicking back and forward between threads I never get any bloody work done!

This is what got me banned.

So McCarthy in a deal with Lennon going the other way.

Does that make sense considering we've just signed Cleverly and Barkley might well play deeper next season?

There's also always Besic coming through to consider.

Personally it does make sense but I think it's a season too soon. I don't think Besic is quite ready to take over from McCarthy and Cleverly can't play that deep.

Besides I don't think we need Lennon especially if we get our targets and wouldn't want to strengthen Spurs.

Basically get to [Poor language removed] spurs.

I was trying to say - did we put in a bid for Shaqiri BEFORE we signed Deulofeu???

We where interested in Shaqiri at the start of the window.

When before we signed Deulofeu Mancini had come out and said Shaqiri was in his plans and the player had said he wanted to stay.

No more rumors regarding us and Shaqiri.

We signed Deulofeu.

Something happened, probably Inter got the player they wanted and all of a sudded he was available again.

Then almost immediately Stoke and us where fighting for him eventually with it being reported that those 2 bids where lodged. I'm not sure why Stoke stole a march on us but maybe the order was wrong and we did bid before getting Deulofeu. Maybe we thought Kev was going. Who knows.

This is the 'speculative' thread......
