And you know that how, with certainty?
As for Koeman, I'll give him until next Summer at most. He's no fool.

Look at his track record in business, he doesn't fail mate, simple as, people are getting upset because they want it all now, now, now...

Reality is we can't flick a switch, erase overnight twenty plus years of bad governorship and expect us to be competing on a par with Chelsea or City.

Moshiri though over 30 years has not had a single piece of dodgy business associated with him, never asset stripped or done some false dawn when taking interest in a company, and has without exception succeeded in all his investments.

Wil some mistakes be made along the way, no doubt whatsoever, will any huge ones occur, I doubt it, no team goes from middling to great overnight, the only ones who ever did so imploded due to it being unsustainable, Chelsea already had much stronger team foundations than us, and city took several years as well.

But some lads on an internet forum call him a fraud whilst sitting in their ma's boxroom. (Not directed at you btw)

Time will tell mate. I have believed from Day 1 he'll be great for us regarding the stadium issue. I can't see how we compete on field with him though.

So at the moment it looks like the following are gone:-

Lukaku
Barkley
Deulofeu
Niasse
Kone
Cleverley
McGeady

With Coleman and Bolasie missing for upto half the season + Barry/Jags age we are gonna need one hell of a summer !

5 of that list were not at the club for Last 4 months and can't be fractured into squad figures. Under 23 development and progression has not been factured in, take on board Rom, barks, Barry and jags but the latter two can be bench, squad player tbh

....Wednesdays what the papers say;

- The Liverpool Echo says RK has a record amount of money to spend and he's also looking to off load some highly paid players.

- Lots of outlets suggest Chelsea have agreed an £80m fee for Lukaku who looks likely to snub Man Utd. However, Jan Aage Fjortoft says the player prefers Man Utd but Chelsea have first option to re-sign him. The Independent suggests Everton prefer a Lukaku to United deal so they can negotiate moves for Chris Smalling and goalkeeper Romero.

- Spurs flop, Sissoko is on the verge of joining Marseilles amid interest from Everton according to a report from France.

- The Daily Mirror says Everton are keen on Hull City's Andrew Robertson.

- FutnSoccer website says a report in Spain suggests Everton are looking to hijack Real Sociadad's £7m deal for Real Madrid defender Diego Llorente.

- French outlet Foot Mercato says Everton are one of a number of clubs interested in Chelsea forward Bertrand Traore who has been on loan at Ajax.

- Fotospor report Besiktas are looking to sign Enner Valencia who has been on loan at Everton.

- 4th Official says Leicester are prepared to bid big for Everton target Gylfi Sigurdsson.

- The Daily Mail reports Everton and Spurs want Bolton's 16 year old Max Broughton.

- 4th Official suggests Everton are in pole position to sign Portuguese defender Ruben Semedo from Sporting Lisbon.

Honest answer, through incremental steps mate, stadium, commercial side, boardroom, mentality throughout all employees of the club, coaching , managerial and director of football, and lastly improved playing staff.

All if them have to be improved or changed to create a club long term can compete.

The bolded were either gone on loan or didn't play last season anyways. Besic and McCarthy should be back so that's the Barry aging problem resolved. We need to replace Lukaku and Barkley if they go, and Jags can't be first choice, but Funes should also be back. With Europe we'll need to sign around 4 new players to improve the first 11 and replace Lukaku and Barkley, but let's not pretend we're losing more than we are. Youngsters like Lookman, Kenny, and Dowell may be more ready to contribute as well.

You make a good point re. The guys coming back, but 4 new players isn't fixing this. Unless we're buying directly from the Real or Barca starting 11.

A few players we're after this summer started out as cheaper players and are now super expensive (VVD/Siggy etc.)

So why are people on here turning their noses up at people like Robertson because they're not marquee expensive signings?

Surely we should be taking some cheaper players that can grow into the expensive players we'd be missing out on in a couple of years.
