Summer Transfer Window 2017

Realistic prices. Spending what we bring in will not get us into the top 6 though not to mind the top 4.I have come to the point where i realise now that the board and owner have filled us with waffel from the takeover. Last year they mentioned on numerous occasions theat we would be able to compete with the teams above us in the player transfer market. Not city or chelsea but spurs and liverpool and arsenal. This looks complete lies now. We still look like a sell to buy club. I think players will spot this and realise that this so called project is not what it originally seemed. Both the players already here and outside. Lukaku and ross both want out and replacing them alone is just not good enough.

I can understand why you think that way but we can't really keep Rom at this stage and Ross only has one year left. Perhaps if we had finished in the top 4 like Liverpool so had CL football and the extra revenue we would be able to spend like them

We do need over 7 players, Imagine having Lyon away on Thursday then Chelsea on Sunday.. Barry and Martina shouldn't even be anywhere near the level of backup players. That's why we cant be blowing 25 Mil on Keane as well be left short unless we are planning on spending 150 Mil witch won't happen.

Martinez did this and we ended up with tom cleverley

I'd like to see us include Nathan Ake in a Lukaku deal he was excellent this season at Bournemouth.

He's left footed too which is a bonus. We could still bring in Keane as the right sided centre half and that's potentially a very very good centre back partnership sorted for years.

Was thinking this earlier, good player is Ake and would have some experienced heads around him to help out

Been banging that drum for a while. Underrated in a way and very consistent

I'd take Giroud. Yes he's 30/31 but he's never been blessed with great pace but his movement is good and intelligent and his link play and technique is really good and he'd be an ideal No.9 in a Koeman system. Koeman does seem to prefer a target man leading the line as he's not apposed to going from back to front when needed so you need someone you can hit and who can get a grip of the ball and get the team up the pitch and Giroud can do that, and he can get goals. Think he'd be an ideal signing for a couple of seasons, especially if you get pace and good movement in and around him!

So Jags and Funes on the way out then? Can't see Williams or Holtgate moving.

Naa Williams won't be going anywhere. Him and another will be our starting CB's I bet. Holgate as of next season needs to start being used as a CB imo, wether that's from the bench or starts in cup games that he gets, get him used to,the position at that level. I've got a feeling Jags could be on his way out. He's knocking on now and was indifferent last season and I'd say, one of our top earners, I bet he's on £40-50K plus a week?! So I think he could be moved on. Mori is a funny one for me. I think if we got a good offer, he could be gone, but then again cos he's left footed he could be seen as an ideal squad player by Koeman that could add balance at times?

But me personally I'd get rid of Jags & Funes Mori, or even maybe keep Mori but sell Jags and possibly loan Holgate out to someone like Huddersfield where he would get more chances of starts in the prem under a manager that does play youth and then go and sign 2 CB's, possibly Keane & Lemos and put Keane straight in and let Lemos find his way and use him sparingly to start to let him get used to the league and us before looking at putting him in full time, cos he is a decent talent.

ARSENAL KEEN TO SECURE YOUNGSTER

The London Evening Standard say Arsenal must hold off a bid from Manchester City to secure the future of young winger Chris Willock, who is entering the final weeks of his Emirates contract.

Everton, Celtic and Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly interested in the 19-year-old.

Fine by me. I don't know anything about Lemos other than what's been written though. No idea if he's an upgrade on Funes or not.

Think time would tell tbh. I've seen the odd games and obviously highlights and he seems to recover well and his positioning is good and he puts a foot in but he can definitely play. He looks better on the ball than any of the CB's we currently have.

Las Palmas are quite on open team and like to attack and commit men forward which leaves them wide open at the back and it can be tough on those at the back and being that exposed so much can make you look worse than you are, I mean look at us under Martinez at times, our defenders looked shocking for his openness at the back and leaving them exposed and vulnerable. Koeman isn't like that and with a more cohesive, tighter backline that doesn't over play, I'm sure players like Lemos would improve no end.

Got to be asking the question atleast, especially IF Chelsea aren't keen on paying anything close to £100m (who would be?!...). If it's true that Chelsea want another CB for the first team (Bonucci & Rudiger rumoured) to go in with Luiz & Cahill, then that leaves Zouma, Ake and even Azpilicueta who can play at CB, also Christensen who is coming back from Gladbach aswell so that could be 6-7 player vying for 3 spots in the team and a place or 2 on the bench so someone is gonna get left out and not be happy and it could be anyone if the likes of Ake, Christensen or Zouma and if I was our manager I'd be asking about all of them. All 3 are very good players, prospects that would be really good signings for us!

Agreed. We set ourself back 3/4 years by not making a statement signing last summer. By not doing so ross and rom think thus project is not all it seemed last year. If we had made a big signing last summer they might have bought into it. Now it seems a whole lot of sell to buy again. We might progress slightly but will never ever catch the top 6 *fotget about top 4*with this strategy. Ever.
