Summer Transfer Window 2017

My wish list would be;

Veratti
VVD
Lacazette
Mbappe

I would also like to see Moshiri to get in touch with his contacts at Arsenal and see what the state of play is with Ozil and Sanchez.

that's the calibre of player we went for last summer and ended up wasting our time and missing out on so many targets. I appreciated the ambition but i don't think we'll go as ambitious as that again this summer.

no doubt we will be back in for Porto's Brahimi this summer, he wanted to come at the time apparently but we left it too late and after Porto rejected it there was no time to haggle

I am assuming you're on a wind up

Mbappe is on the radar of Real Madrid

More or less every big team in the continent will want Veratti if he leaves and VVD is probably going to end up at Chelsea, Man Utd or Man City. We're not at that level yet.

A big mistake we made last summer was almost aiming too high.

Not sure if you remember the kind of players Man City were buying when they first got their cash injection, but here's some names from the first year or two:

Shay Given
Craig Bellamy
Gareth Barry
Wayne Bridge
Shaun Wright-Phillips
Adam Johnson
Joleon Lescott
Tal Ben Haim
Roque Santa Cruz

What they concentrated on initially was building themselves by taking the better players from the teams below them or with less financial muscle.

Even names likes Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta, Nigel De Jong weren't the established names that they eventually became. The one difference was that they managed to sign a "name" straight away in Robinho (and look how that turned out).

Essentially our approach in targeting the likes of Williams and Bolasie last summer was similar and I'd expect us to do the same again this summer - we've been linked with the likes of Keane and Sigurdsson already for this summer and I don't really expect our approach to change a great deal.

Excellent post that lad makes perfect sense, we won't attract the elite until we make champions league. Only player I think we could have a chance with is VVD giving his relationship with Koeman.

There's a recent interview Kev had where he stated he wanted an extension as he was settled with his family here and ?kids were schooling here? So wanted to minimise disruption and he loved the club. Etc.

Makes a change, he's spent most of his time here talking about wanting a move

...that's right but what we don't know is if Koeman wants to keep him. Saying that, if Koeman wants rid the player might prefer to sit on his contract for 12 months and then get a lucrative Bosman.

Aye well for me he still has stuff to offer the team, and with Europe will be good for squad depth to rotate in and out of the starting 11. We need to be buying a better player in his position though IMO.

Remember him deliberately creating doubt around his own future. That didn't work out for him now wants to stay. I'd love to say "once Everton's touched you nothing's the same" but I don't think that's the case with Kev!
