Summer Transfer Window 2017

jesus, and people expect we'd sell barry, jagielka and williams for a combined £30m?

What's the point in selling them? The money we'd get would in no way help us, lot of overeating teds in here, we still need a bit squad and these players offer their experience throughout the season. I bet all of you were saying drop mori and give someone like pennington and holgate a go. We saw today how it's not as simple as just bringing in kids. Football Manager has ruined people's expectations of what a football club can do in a transfer window.

My opinion of the current first team squad

Goalkeepers

Joel Robles - Sell
Maarten Stekelenburg - Sell

Defenders
Leighton Baines - Keep
Ashley Williams - Keep as reserve player
Phil Jagielka - Sell
Seamus Coleman - Keep
Ramiro Funes Mori - Sell
Matthew Pennington - Loan out
Mason Holgate - Keep

Midfielders
Morgan Schneiderlin - Sell
Ross Barkley - Sell if he doesnt want to sign the new contract
Aaron Lennon - Sell
James McCarthy - Sell
Idrissa Gana Gueye - keep
Gareth Barry - Sell
Muhamed Besic - Keep
Tom Davies - keep
Kieran Dowell - Loan out

Forwards
Arouna Koné - Sell
Romelu Lukaku - Try to keep
Kevin Mirallas - Keep as reserve
Yannick Bolasie - Keep
Enner Valencia - Give back
Dominic Calvert-Lewin - Keep
Ademola Lookman - Loan out

that leaves our squad with no keepers (when our manager says he likes 3 keepers), one centre back and a total squad of 11 players. You think we're going to go and buy about 16 players in one window?

Whilst everyone's opinion on who we should buy is great and who they'd like to keep and sell, are there any actual rumours about who we are in for at the minute that might have a bit of truth? Bar Rooney of course.

I'm not saying thats who we sell in one sitting but that's my opinion on where we should improve, i feel that to get to the next step up we need better quality players and I feel these wouldn't make the cut in the new era.

I'm well aware that you just don't sell 13 odd players and bring in 16 plus players in one sitting

And what? lol they're two different players so sell Barkley and get who? God I hate these daft posts

You're the one that makes a big deal, comparing them. I never said or suggest they are the same. Barkley attracts most money for us to go and spend on the team.

Many great young replacements for Barkely. Malcolm at Bordeaux, Gerson at Roma, Tielemans at Anderlecht, and Ante Coric at my team Dinamo.

Just a few examples.

ah ok, i was basing it on the thread title. I think everyone including koeman will agree with all those shouts (except barkley), before last week we needed to do a lot less business this summer and it's all been fecked up again with coleman and mori's long term injuries, mccarthy seeming to have angered koeman again and with bolasie still out for months and months. We definitely need 5 new starting XI players this summer imo and then possibly a couple of good youngsters and that'll be a good start. A good 4 or 5 of our squad will have retired within the next 2 or 3 seasons, so we need to do the groundwork of phasing them all out this summer.

As much as I admire those who want to do things through slow sustained commercial growth and a good production line through the academy, the answer to find success is simply to spend very very big. That's what we need to do whether we like it or not.

Yeah that sounds great but i cant see us having the money, even 100m doesn't get you much these days when you want to buy top top players.

It was like watching the Dad's Army Central defence of the late 90s again yesterday. Carl Tiler and Craig Short.
Absolute joke.

And those that don't want Rooney back? Take a look at the "leadership" in the current squad.
Absolute joke.
