There all young bar Forster, i think we should be looking at 3 or 4 players at the age of 25 to 28. Who can slot straight in.

And maybe sign 2 or 3 younger players on top

I agree that they are young but i do think they would get in our first 11 except for the strikers but ive factored in rom going

It was like watching the Dad's Army Central defence of the late 90s again yesterday. Carl Tiler and Craig Short.
Absolute joke.

And those that don't want Rooney back? Take a look at the "leadership" in the current squad.
Absolute joke.

Yesterday did make me think bringing Rooney back would at least give us someone who'd play the game rather than the occasion.

Coleman's absence now means we look weak right across the defence.

Too old or too inexperienced, lacking in pace, mobility, and nous.

Ideally the captain of the side should come from the 2 or 3 CB's as well.

We also need leadership and guts in there.

Priority has to be a goalkeeper and 2 CB's.

We have to aim to fill those positions and set us up for the next 5 years at least with those signings, if not 10 years.

I still think we can only expect to be Top 4 contenders after another two seasons at a minimum.

Reinforcements needed at GK, 2 x CB, AM, F this summer. That's without considering the flanks and the impact of departures.

There is still too much work to be done on the squad to realistically expect otherwise, but this summer will probably be the defining window of Koeman's reign.

If the powers that be drag their feet on bringing in new players in the summer, for which we have a history of, I can see Koeman walking, he won't be as obliging has the previous two.

I'd still be tempted to go for Butland and Shaw - maybe overpriced but both their last couple of seasons will have knocked the price down from stupidly high to an ok one

They're both constantly injured it seems. nowhere near good enough to represent their value either. I like the sound of sessegnon at Fulham. I just don't rate Shaw whatsoever, he had no end product, Phil Neville's staff
Stats from right back were better

Yep snides was a good buy for this reason, at the moment our squad is primarily under 23s and over 30s. We don't have anywhere near enough players in their prime. Good set up for the future, but the young lads need proper players to carry them when they have an off day, our older players are too old for that and are mostly a liability rather than carrying the team

Need to sign at least 4 defenders. Need left back as not much left in the tank for baines , 3 centre back as Jags sprint yesterday against Can showed he is finished , fumes mori is no use and williams not doing it for us ... holgate will be ok and hopefully Seamus can come back Strong . Need to get a good look at some of the youngsters .. Kenny might be able to step up .. Pennington also might be ok ... tough start for lad yesterday ... not sure where we are with browning ...also yesterday for me answered the keeper question... we need a new one ! Joel out of position for me for all 3 goals ... the positive is money for the Ckev and Niasse will help us and hopefully we will splash the cash as well ... final part is we need much stronger captain. When the ref was talking to jags and Milner yesterday jags just stood there while Milner ranted ... need stronger character to lead the team forward ... overall I am happy we are making progress and that Koeman will get us there !

After yesterday it's time for Mosh to splash the cash
It showed our depth is not strong enough and a lot of our first 11 are not good enough
A lot of the mediocrity had to be got rid of
So out go
Lennon 6/7 million
Naisse 12 million
Besic 10 million
McCarthy 20 million
Jags free
Kone free
Steks free
Barry free
Delefeuo 20 million
Looking at 60 / 70 million there
If the 30 million Sissoko money is there and 60 from this year that's 150 million to spend
I'd like to see a first team / second choice along these lines

Forster/Robles
Holgate / Coleman
Baines / Tierney or Robertson
Keane /Williams
Koubailly / Pennington
Schnederlin/krychowiak(outstanding when at Sevilla now not getting a game at PSG
Idrissa/Tielemans
Siggy or Mata or Fabregas/ROSS
Bolassie /Mirallas
Davies /Rooney
Rom /Bernardi

Put in a few young lads and we've a squad for Europa and league.
A domestic cup would be nice but top 4 or if we get it handy like united did this year the EL is not out of reach.

You're the one that makes a big deal, comparing them. I never said or suggest they are the same. Barkley attracts most money for us to go and spend on the team.

Many great young replacements for Barkely. Malcolm at Bordeaux, Gerson at Roma, Tielemans at Anderlecht, and Ante Coric at my team Dinamo.

Just a few examples.

You don't sell Barkley and keep McCarthy sort it out aye.

Exactly
I'm sick of deadline day signings so Bill can save 3 months wages.
Get the players in and out before July if possible.
No summer championships to worry about so get our business done early.
I know we may have to wait till the merry go round starts to get some of our targets but a couple of big names in early will show ROSS and Rom we have ambition
