But if we are to believe that both players were offered significant deals to stay and sign, I doubt that would have been done if RK was not keen or arsed about either one of them. For me, too much has been made of Koeman's original response in a prezzer to the situation with Barkley having only one year left and still unsigned. He was being completely pragmatic, yet from that the conspiracy-theorists have gone to town on Koeman not rating Ross. Notice how quiet Koeman has gone on this since then? Maybe he's learned to not say things that can be wildly interpreted...

He will have lost about 10mill in wages but, if he's worth 100mill, imagine what his signing on fee would be! Bear in mind, it's not like he's playing for a div1 club, so he'll still be making headlines by scoring goals etc.

With Rom staying and leading the line I could see us challenging for Top4 with Top6 minimum next season.

We currently have Barkley, Gana, Morgan, Besic, Klassen, Barry, McCarthy and Davies.

And as Chris says above, the likes of Liam Walsh and Dowell, plus others chomping at the bit to get a chance.

Now clearly if we moved some of the above on we would have "space", but we have a a whole squad of talented young players, we dont need to import them, so if we are to replace any of the above players, they would need to be in the above 25 age group, cos to break the top 4, we dont need potential, we need ready to go.

What about if we don't play a midfield 3 every single game?

Im very curious Zat, I mean I presume in your world we sell Besic, McCarthy and Barry, leaving us with only Gana, Klaassen, Davies, Snides, Barkley and of course Dongledocker, so thats 7 players for 3 spots on the team, sure, we are playing Europa and no doubt people will get a run out, but I dont even think Barca or Bayern have 5 QUALITY CMs, baffling Zatmania, truly.
