Im very curious Zat, I mean I presume in your world we sell Besic, McCarthy and Barry, leaving us with only Gana, Barkley, Klaassen, Davies, Snides, Barkley and of course Dongledocker, so thats 7 players for 3 spots on the team, sure, we are playing Europa and no doubt people will get a run out, but I dont even think Barca or Bayern have 7 QUALITY CMs, baffling Zatmania, truly.

For me, I think we will be screwed if Schneiderlin is out, he is so important to the way we play.

I'd go and get Dendoncker from Anderlecht myself even if he costs 25-30mil.

It means we can play the same system every game.

Couple thoughts:
1. Unless you've always got the best players on the pitch, ala Chelsea and their magic wing back set up, I wouldn't want to play the same system every game. Different games require different set ups which means we have a need for some specialized players. Yes, we know Snides is extremely important, but you can't bank on his injury. If he's hurt, we need to adjust.
2. Our funds aren't unlimited. We have plenty of holes to fill before adding even more depth to central mid. If McCarthy and Besic both go, maybe bring in 1 more or look to the youth. Surely we need to add some depth and changes to our back line, wingers, and strikers first.

Well with regards number 2, if we moved on ALL 3 of what we can consider our "back up" midfielders in Barry, Besic and McCarthy, well, as you say, we could maybe do with 1 more, but also as you say, we do not have unlimited funds, we need some CBs, we need a full back and we need ATTACKING options before we consider stacking the midfield.

That was probably the thinking behind giving Barry a new contract, hes not the greatest atm, but he has vast experience.......... Besic and McCarthy have sadly picked up a few injuries the last 12-18months, McCarthy we could probably get decent money, if hes surplus and we can use the money elsewhere, maybe get a discount on Keane, well I dunno, theres lots of ifs and maybes floating around, its hard to say, but I know I wouldnt be dropping more money on a DM/CM just yet, personally.

I don't disagree, two more like Sandro and Benteke (replace with any other striker who could be relied upon to play the lone striker role and score 12+ a season if he played every game) would be ideal.

That's if we sign Sandro. I think we still need 7 players to have a top 4 squad able to go far in Europe and the domestic cups.

Defence -- Clearly we need 2 new top centre backs and someone to come in and take over from Baines

Midfield -- We have seen if Schneiderlin is out we look far worse. We need another like him and a more attacking player than Gueye to use if we are dominating teams.

Attack -- Obviously we need two top forwards to be signed as Deulofeu looks to be off with Rom and Mirallas is unreliable.


Now, of the others in the squad, who is capable of being in the selection above who

A) Doesn't have fitness issues all the time

B) Is good enough to play against top sides or develop to be at that level like Kenny/Lookman?


I would argue that none of them are....
