No one above us is legit going for Sandro, does that mean he's not good enough for a Top 4 side and thus isn't going to help is bridge the gap?

Many young players have stepping stones. A parochial view wouldn't get people very far in scouting.

We're not talking about Sandro though are we? Koeman and Walsh think he's the biz and that's good enough for me.

This Moonie lad is going to Brighton.

Soon to be Brighton superstar striker.

Apparently.

Getting on a bit isn't he....

Suarez was 3 years ago mate....prices have gone nuts since.
And the other 2 you mention (good players mind) have not consistantly scored goals every season for the past 3/4 seasons.
This is a club that eak's every cent out of a transfer and are always above market rate for our assets.
IF...they have put £100 mil fee out there that is the price his agent will have to pedal to potential suitors.
If not he can stay , the club's in a very strong position here.

You will find they have mate....

Lacazette - 22 goals in 2013/14, 31 goals in 14/15, 23 in 15/16 and 37 in all last season (113 in last 4 seasons, in the time we've had Lukaku).

Aubameyang - 16 goals in 13/14, 25 in 14/15, 39 in 15/16 and 40 across the board last season (120 in last 4 seasons)!

And we are in a strong position. Don't get close to the £100m value or anything acceptable to us, then he stays. But didn't Juve want £100m for Pogba?! And what did he go for, £85-90m? Even if we got that, that would be unbelievable but I just can't see it regardless of what figure we've put on his head.

Thing is mate we are looking at our players weaknesses and comparing that to say Mbappe, look at the players strengths and Lukaku is massively more proven in a top league, and is a mile ahead of him as a pure finisher

I agree with a lot of that but the top teams look for a lot more in a player than just his finishing or else Defoe would of played for the likes of Barca & Real back in the day wouldn't he. But just cos Mbappe's stats don't show up to Lukaku's, don't be fooled into thinking he's not as good of a finisher.

The CIES Football Observatory have released their valuations of 110 players across the continent.
Their figures are founded on an algorithm, based on the thorough analysis of almost 2,000 paying fee transfers.
The variables through which transfer values are modelled notably include the performance of both players and their clubs, as well as international status, contract, age and position.
And through that study, Lukaku has been valued at 105.4 million euros – or just over £93 million

M. Sissoko last summer 30 mil. ...

MasonLeeEFC, post: 5543643, member: 44027"]I don't really. You do usually pay a premium for English players/talents, it's always been the case. And I know Pogba went for what he did but that's nothing to do with us! I'd honestly say that Lukaku is worth around £65-75m. Your talking about a player that only scores goals. Now that sounds stupid but the rest of his game isn't all that. He's not a world class player. Like I've mentioned before, the likes of Aubameyang & Lacazette are available for around €50-65m, so what's that, around £45-60m plus?! Both players are goal scorers and technically better players than Lukaku. Both have done it in their respected leagues and Europe for years now and are available for less so I'm kinda going by their valuations when it comes to Lukaku. I just don't think he's worth more than them. What did Suarez go for? £80-90m? Lukaku is nowhere near in his class so I don't see how he could be worth more than him?!
[/QUOTE]

And that's fair enough but the top brass at other clubs and plenty of fans around the world aren't going to go by all that and value a player based on that are they. If Chelsea thought he was worth that, they'd of thrown that at us by now wouldn't they. Clearly they don't believe he's worth anywhere near £100m.

Obviously some on here think he is worth £100m but do you honestly see him going for that kind of money?
