So you think he's worth as low as £65 mil when 2yrs ago Sterling went for £50 mil ?
Stones last year best part of £50 mil ?
Stop underselling our players and get with the Cash Crazy Prem lge.
Pogba £86 mil ?
You really need to adjust your valuation mate.
The price is leaked at £100 mil, if theres no takers he stays , simple as that.

I don't really. You do usually pay a premium for English players/talents, it's always been the case. And I know Pogba went for what he did but that's nothing to do with us! I'd honestly say that Lukaku is worth around £65-75m. Your talking about a player that only scores goals. Now that sounds stupid but the rest of his game isn't all that. He's not a world class player. Like I've mentioned before, the likes of Aubameyang & Lacazette are available for around €50-65m, so what's that, around £45-60m plus?! Both players are goal scorers and technically better players than Lukaku. Both have done it in their respected leagues and Europe for years now and are available for less so I'm kinda going by their valuations when it comes to Lukaku. I just don't think he's worth more than them. What did Suarez go for? £80-90m? Lukaku is nowhere near in his class so I don't see how he could be worth more than him?!

Why are we selling him? We don't need the money, he scored 25 goals last year, he probably score more next year, so why would we want a bidding war?

I don't think Koeman does want to sell him but the lad desperately wants to leave, just like Stones did, so it may be a case of getting the best possible deal?! The noises I've heard is that we did really well to get him to stay one more season and that there could possibly be a "gentlemans" agreement with Rom to let him leave IF we get a good enough deal for him?! I mean, don't take my word for that it's just what I'd seen but it seems Stones got it the other year and he got sold the following season.

A deal for Sandro seems imminent now and if Koeman goes for say, Dembele and/or another striker then I think we can take that as he's preparing for life without Lukaku...

Imagine us selling Lukaku for £85m and signing Lacazette and Aubameyang for £100m lol

This. The thing I'm worried about is once Coleman comes back, I don't want another player hanging around the place stealing a living.
I would imagine IF he signed it would be 2 or 3 years max (I don't think he will sign for 1).

The other thing to keep in mind is Coleman is projected back around the first of the year. There are no guarantees he is going to be the same player. In fact if you look at similar breaks. Ramsey (not sure if there was also ligament damage with his), Oviedo off the top of my head, they really were not back to their pre-injury level for a well over a year. It isn't like you and me getting back to walking after a bad break and being able to get around. Seamus needs to be a world class athlete and put tremendous stress on his leg. That is not even getting into the mental side of going into a challenge. If anyone can overcome that it is Seamus. However I am preparing myself that if we get anything out Seamus in 2018 it will be a positive. Not being negative just being prudent.

One can quibble if Martina is the experienced right back cover we need. But we do need some experienced right back cover. If it turns out Seamus comes back and Kenny is good enough we could sell Martina for a couple million.

Add Lennon to that list as well.

Can't see us selling Mori, Barry, Robles, Besic or Galloway this window at all.

Garbutt not up to it, Tarashaj never been here so unlikely to be missed, Niasse, Cleverley, Del and Mcgeady all been elsewhere already so also not great stress in losing those.

Kone and Valencia already released and will be replaced with some quality. Jags to be replaced by Keane is a good move if it happens.
What actually is the present situation with Lennon?

Was it as little as that, I thought it was more. But regardless of his age, even when Lukaku hits his prime, he won't be as good as Suarez, don't care what anyone says, now he has the lot, the ability, gets goals, he works hard, makes his own goals, not always selfish.

Now a world class striker went for £65m there so to me Lukaku isn't worth that then, regardless of inflated prices these days, has he's not in the same class level. But that's just how I see and judge things before anyone comes back having a pop. It's matter of opinions....

Mate Mbappe is being bandied around at 87-100m for a lad whose done it one season in the french league and had a good CL campaign

That is the crux of the problem and talking himself into a corner (sign or you're gone ultimatums), doesn't help the situation.

Yeah but I don't blame Koeman for doing that because at the end of the day Barkley has had this offer on the table for months and yet he's been advised to hold it off and wait and see what interest there is in him come the summer so he's got in the back of his mind he'd fancy leaving so I think Koeman has every right to say look, there's a deal there for you to stay but if you don't fancy it then away you go.

For me, same goes for Lukaku. We would like to keep him but if you don't want to stay, and he clearly doesn't, then on your bike!

Sigurrdson is not worth £40m.

I think we can get better for less, and I would like to see Ross given an opportunity to perform alongside some better players with movement alongside him.

All you are getting with Gylfi is free kicks and corners.
Whilst I agree, he isn't worth £40m, I do think now as bigger spenders we are going to have to face the current position re: taking the best players from the lower clubs.
Looking at Swansea, along with Llorente, Sig' nearly single handedly dragged them away from relegation. So take him out, factor in that Swansea couldnt afford a guaranteed like for like replacement, and they are perilously close to being relegated. The cost of that is in the tens of millions if not more.

So our transfer policy, dumb down of course, is going to be either:

Players from abroad (potentially unproven)
Players that the top sides have but will let go (few and far between)
Players that are too good for their respective lower PL sides but will cost top money.

It was the same with Bolasie last season. 28m or whatever is ludicrous but he was arguably Palace's best player so he was worth that to them.

I'm sure the above is obvious to everyone. I just think we have to face facts that 40m for Sig' is probably about right when you consider everything, not just quantifying his ability into a transfer fee.

Personally, i'd buy him. But I am a lunatic.
