Although not literally, Lukaku leaving means that we would have money to reinvest in the squad, it reminds me of the rooney/bent transfer, we strengthened other areas of the squad to improve the team.
Now of course if we sell Romelu, then a £750k forward would not be good enough. If we spent £30-£40m of the fee on another forward, then then say £20m on a backup, with the remainder on a future prospect in the squad or cover for Sheamus/Bainesy, then I feel we would accelerate our climb to the top 5.
I know it's probably pipe dream but Icardi would be so boss. He'd be like Suarez was for that lot..

We need: GK, CB, CB, ST, ST - then arguably cover for RB, LB and CAM. Gonna be a lot of money...That's if Koeman is happy with Mirallas/Lookman/Bolasie & potentially Deulofeu as the wingers...
No we dont, we need quality! Martinez went with the cover for every position approach and we ended up with so much dirge in the squad ronnie has done great to replacement. 2 or 3 top quality signings that improve the 1st team like we did with Schneiderlin in the summer and maybe a top prospect centre forward and the RB. LB cover etc can be down to the likes of Holgate, Kenny, Connolly, Walsh, Dowell, Williams etc
I wouldn't be averse to getting Benteke.

Chelsea for example have tapped int ot he china market and got huge money for Oscar (a player they didnt want), and will get top top dollor for Costa, more than anyone in europe will pay

Robles is a horrible keeper, not ability wise, just concedes weird goals like origi or mane vs Liverpool, just watched them like he had a brain fart. Yet against united I thought he was superb !
Definitely need to invest in a top keeper, look at the Lloris/Friedel situation. Really good move from Spurs.

Beg to differ like but footy is all about opinions.
Personally reckon he's in the top five keepers in the league, though there's a huge gulf between the likes of Lloris, De Gea, Cech and Courtois.
