Good shout. Forgot about them two. To have 5 players at the under 20 World Cup is no mean feat and it will have got the attention of other top young players at other academies , even if they are already internationals (Hirst and Brooks).

If were seeing a lot of the u23 winning side go on loan and into the 1st team squad I think our priority (other than to the existing players) should be to focus on the best English talent and bring them into the side. Instead weve gone with Mathis and Donker who don't seem wanted, a Dutch player who may be decent....and paid money for Bowler.

Would be nice to pay money for 3 English lads a summer for the u23s and hope they got he way of lookman and DCL

But for Koeman to throw him into a Derby he must have seen something there , unless it was sink or swim

I'm going to Accrington tomorrow, hopefully I'll get the opportunity to assess Mathis, Donker and Bowler.
I'll let you know what I think, I agree though I'm surprised us going for donker and Mathis.

We just had 5 lads in the u20 england squad, and 2 lads in u21 squad. I think if one thing is not a problem at everton it isnt we dont have enough young english kids around.
