What's annoying is that we don't seem to be putting any ambitious bids in for players who could possibly buy into what we are trying to build, obviously the likes of CL players are unlikely but I would like to see us throw money at the likes of Southampton for players like Van Dijk/Bertrand, Lemos from Las Palmas, Inter for Perisic - get the team built this summer as we still have glaring weaknesses in the starting 11 namely at CB, LB, LM and the main CF position.

your talking another £100-120 million that needs to be spent realistically in bringing these players in.

You'll laugh mate but if you seriously think we are getting top 4 with Ashley Williams and 32 year old Baines at LB then your in for disappointment. People say our defensive record was good last year yet Koeman often played it tight/compact especially against the top 6 sides which for me shows he didn't trust the defence at his disposal to hold it together against the quality of opposition we faced - without Lukaku we'll have to play more open if we are to score the goals without him and that'll mean we need more reliance on a steady back 4 which imo we don't have with just Keane coming in.

I'm happy with our business so far but the players we have signed are from bottom end clubs I want to see some ambition in getting players that can take us to that next level - I'm not being unrealistic in calling for bids for Costa or Belloti as they are out of our reach, but surely we can attract the likes of Van Dijk/Perisic ie players from EL clubs/ clubs without European football wanting to make the next step up.

And by selling the likes of Barkley and McCarthy we could recoup some of that money.

Not every approach from clubs is highlighted in the press, we have spoken to most of the Agents in the game in the last few months and we will have an idea of who is and isnt interested.

According to the media United have spent all Summer trying to sign Perisic and the vermin across the park VVD.

Its really cool to slate Ashley Williams and claim Baines is finished, the reality is that both are good players and will do us in good stead the next season, sure we could do with a few more players in certain areas, but we havent finished our business this window, lets see what the squad looks like at the end of the window before we settle for 7th again yeah.

In this system our fullbacks need to be offering us energy and overlapping to provide width, a 33/34 year old Baines imo is not going to offer either.

Everything what was good about Baines is fading, his energy, his set pieces, crossing - are now very mediocre.

Slating Ashley Williams isn't cool Morgs, he's a good defender if you expect to defend your six yard box all the time.

Progressive top 6 teams come out play and most likely play a high line, and unfortunately Williams can't deal with it. The amount of times last season he just knew himself and did that most cynical body check, he knows himself.

As for Baines, he's still the man for me, think his longtime replacement will be bought next summer.

Riedewald would be a buy similar to when you are out in the supermarket buying essentials and you see a 12 bag of mini cheddars on the end cap for £1.

Worth adding for extra depth but not a priority as you have already set your sights on some extra special cracker bread and and a cheese platter during the big shop later in the week.
