...bits and bobs of Everton transfer gossip for this Monday morning;

- Fox Sports (Australia) quote an article in the Daily Star suggesting that Everton and Arsenal have joined the race to sign defender VvD from Southampton.

- The Hull Daily Mail says Hull City are in advanced talks to take Everton defender Matthew Pennington on loan.

- According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are keen to conclude a deal for Ross Barkley this week but only if Everton drop their valuation. Spurs leave for their pre-season tour later this week. ToTheLaneAndBack Weblog say Everton are finally prepared to lower the £50m price tag.

- Footballfanquest website suggest Everton are being priced out of a move for Gylfi Sigurdsson. The same website quotes the Daily Mirror in saying Everton fans are not keen on the clubs interest in Arsenal's Theo Walcott.

- Sky Sports and Clubcall website reckons Everton are weighing up a move for Chelsea forward, Loic Remy.

- As reported by [Publication is blacklisted due to spam] Sport, Everton have agreed a deal with Newcastle for young defender, Lewis Gibson. Apparently Newcastle fans are outraged with the deal and have taken to Twitter to vent their anger.

- The Daily Mail says Leicester City are demanding £40m for Everton, Chelsea and AS Roma target, Riyad Mahrez.

FoxSports Australia hahahaha. They literally quote anything from talksport to ye olde red head who is chugging down a schooner at the pub. They are desperate to keep people buying subscription TV, after losing the EPL tv rights to a local telecommunication rival - hence they need to reference anything and everything to keep people interested. Would not take the VVD rumour with a pinch of salt.

That being said. I'd take VVD. 60m is about right.

It's basically lifted from the Star on Sundays report saying we where interested mate.

As for our actual interest, i don't think we have ever 'not' been interested in the player, don't think we will do anything though until the rs go for another cb then maybe we will see something.
