So this guy was signing for Milan then Everton and eventually ended up at Arsenal - all within 24hrs.

Not sure I'm convinced to be honest.

Arsenal just shown us how's it's done. Slap big wages on the table and get them signed. This is the paradox situation the club is in right now, we talk a big game but don't offer the fee's or wages to sign the big players. Like Kenwright haggling over the Schneiderlein transfer fee in which Koeman flipped after the Leicester game- we are far too slow in signing players.

If we approach a player 2 days ago have them signed before an Arsenal or Tottenham get wind and come in. The exact same with Perez in the summer. Obviously these clubs are more attractive but other clubs seem to find a way around this why can we never seem too?

I just hope because Walsh has an excellent reputation, teams are not waiting for us to do all the work then swooping in on our targets. I think the Perez one was exactly that as Arsenal were not even linked and it smacked of desperation, like a 'what could we be missing out on' moment - hasnt really worked out for him.

Paul Joyce has said Van Dijk is Liverpool's top target this summer. WRD has said he is ours too, hopefully the Koeman link will see us win the race (assuming City/Chelsea dont come in and blow both oulf us out of the water).

Think City & Chelsea will have other targets. And I'd like to think that Koeman's relationship with van Dijk would sway him towards us rather than them!

Would be a pity if it's all true. He's a very good player and would have solved an evolving problem with Baines in the twilight of his career, for no outlay. Big wages obviously but would have been a cracking signing on a free.
