A manager praising a player in a press conference and a paper exclusive with an ex player of a club/paid employee is a totally different scenario.

Shouldn't write off players just by looking at their stats. Zat told us all that Gabbiadini was a shocking player just by having a peek at his stats on wiki. 42 career goals spread over 9 seasons with 6 different clubs.
He's made a cracking start to life here and looks a player.
Jose seems to have the tools to make it as a PL player, strong, physical and leads the line. Nobody knows just how well he'll settle though so it's always a bit of a gamble.
Wouldn't hold my breath on this one anyway as Koeman could easily pull a Belfodil.

I mentioned in a thread some time ago that I thought RK would keep Jagielka for another season.
If we qualify for the Europa league we will be playing on a Thursday and a Sunday. We will need a far bigger squad than we currently have, Jagielka and Barry bring loads of experience and can certainly contribute if not expected to play every week.
Keeping Jagielka and Williams,buying Keane and possibly selling Ramiro Funes with Holgate , Pennington, Galloway and maybe Browning as back up leaves us well covered for central defenders.
It would allow the manager to spend his money in other targeted areas.

A the same time dropping Funes Mori for Jagielka is ominous for him.
