Summer Transfer Window 2017

Only just got around to watching a YouTube of sandro. Very excited now. What a bargain he looks, scores all different types of goals too, six yard box, outside the area, dead balls. Looks a tad greedy at times, but then even Ronaldo is.

Giroud - Yes please.

Reid - no thanks - smells like just papers fishing for names given they know Koeman wants another centre back - so they are throwing out cheap backup options.

Barkley - nope not to spurs, they are arguably the most vulnerable team in the top 4 to aim for this season for us, can't be giving them someone who on his day can win them points.
Lennon to Watford - good for us, the player and for Watford, hope it happens/

Seri - absolutely no idea about him, but looks like a few of the top 6 have him as their second option as a transfer target.

Sigurdsson - yes please, hopefully Connolly is either a loan or with some buy back attached should he develop, if any truth at all to that.

Jagielka - would let him go anywhere as he is washed up and gives us the illusion of having depth and cover which he doesn't provide in reality.

Based on the past 2 seasons and the fact they have been in a title hunt for most if the season, spurs are more top 4 contenders than Liverpool arsenal and United. They have a fantastic team there, all getting better every year, and a 30 goals striker which we have lost ourselves.

They are also playing at Wembley. Which is a huge negative having been imperious at WHL. They are vulnerable next season and we should do nothing to strengthen them.

Outside of the sky narrative there wasn't any real title race mate, was maybe a week period after Chelsea stumbled late on and spurs the utterly bottled it against west ham. Chelsea won and the one week of a title race was over.

As for spurs being stronger than any others you mentioned, none if those are gonna be effectively playing 38 away games next season mate, spurs will finish 7th.

Fair point admittedly.

The other side is that after 2 years of improvement, this could be the year they finally have the fire to win the league no matter where they play. So playing at Wembley may be playing away to them but it can also reflect a chance to play in a massive stadium with momentum to become that team.

No way of knowing until the season mind you, so all guesswork by anyone. I just don't believe even at Wembley they are going to be too vulnerable to lose massive groundwork that they have built, the same groundwork we have done this summer and hope to emulate. Hopefully we are a year away from getting our eriksen and Ali, and hopefully our kane will turn out to be a boss little Spaniard who cost us next to nothing

Despite all the sensible signings, I still think it looks like a 65-point squad at present. Particularly without Lukaku. Can reserve judgement until we get a couple more players, but the strikers we are linked with at the moment aren't doing anything to change that opinion. I think we need one special player in the front three to get to where we want to be, but unfortunately I don't see it coming this season.

Last season spurs where top of the home records and fifth on away and that away form was boosted hugely by the last two games with nothing to play for that the ran cricket scores up against Leicester and Hull.

So unbeaten all season at home, 53 out of 57 points, at Wembley they lost a semi final, lost 2 out I'd three in the CL and only won a meaningless dead rubber game, failed to win and got knocked out at Wembley in the EL.

So 17 wins 2 draws 0 losses at WHL.
1 win, 1 draw, 3 losses at Wembley.

The problem with Wembley is the away team will treat it as a one off chance to play there. Spurs lost to some garbage in Europe last season that they would have beaten comfortably at the lane. They are also an established threat now so that adds pressure. I think this was possibly the worst season they could have picked to move away from their fortress home. They have a very settled side and would have been a good bet for the league.
Not now imo.

This. Last summer it seems we spent too much time going after fancy names and ultimately got burned when those names did not fancy a team that finished 11th in the league (understandably). However, this summer I feel the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction. They players we have bought are all nice and good (except Martina) but nothing that will get us ahead of the curve, unless Sandro turns into a world beater in the next season.

Would so love us to go out and make a cheeky bid for someone who will get you out of your seat.
