Supposedly a different era now at Everton. That ruthlessness you mention has been argued to be there.I think I'd like us to be that ruthless next summer if we don't win a trophy or push for CL, as I don't much rate the manager.
However it wouldn't be the most outlandishly crazy thing for the club to do if they give him his three seasons to see the work through. I think it would be fine to dislike the decision, as I would, but it would extremely OTT to be screaming from the rooftops to get him out the door.
....and you're dirty.Whahhaaahahah you're a joke
No target whatsoever for a second season after spending £150+M?
Pfffffft!

Do you sometimes imagine your actually the owner of Everton F.c.? Because you sound like you do. Neither I nor you know the criteria that Moshiri will use to judge the manager on at the seasons end. Short of relegation, I reckon he'll be our manager for the duration of his contract. There'll be no excuses accepted, no hard luck stories. He got his signings in, he has to get CL footy (5th and missing out by a point or two will be viewed sympathetically like) or win a trophy.
Anything short of that....adios.

Any manager spending £150+M at this club in one window and falls on his arse deserves no mercy.
Minimum 5th...and a close 5th at that....or a cup win, or GTF.
Dude, make up your mind. Is it total or net spend? If Lukaku is the greatest thing to ever happen to us, losing him should be a pretty big blow, no?Highest spend in the club's history by a manager being laid £7m p.a.....get the job done or do one.
What about 2nd season syndrome? There'll be no excuses accepted, no hard luck stories. He got his signings in, he has to get CL footy (5th and missing out by a point or two will be viewed sympathetically like) or win a trophy.

So by that standard, Martinez should have been canned in his second year, correct?None. But it'd show a possible capability to get a CL spot eventually. As said, if he can't get that or a cup, see ya....
Slaven Bilic is under similar pressure with Mutante Club fans. Personally, I think they are a bit deluded. They are dross so why is Slav under the same pressure big Ron is?There'll be no excuses accepted, no hard luck stories. I think the 72 points is an arbitrary number of what is rouphly needed for CL qualification and not a replacement for winning the league lolHard to argue that we all enjoyed massively Martinez's first season. Was it the most enjoyable season watching Everton since the 1980s? Absolutely. I hope RK can bring enjoyable seasons to us soon. I think he can but it is going to be difficult in the face of the super 6 getting better and better and richer and richer .
I am unconvinced that final points total is more important than league finishing position, so I am not going down '72 points' discussions avenue. It's a bit of a red herring. I understand both sides of those wishing to debate it, and this forum is the proper place for such debate, but I think I might steer clear of fixed points totals like 72. For instance, if we get to 72 points the team will likely relax thinking 'job done'. I would be a bit miffed if we were leading the PL and downed tools at 72 points. We might have been champions except for a silly fixation on a pints target (72 points)
I might be going out on a limb here, but I would rather win the PL than finish the season on 72 points
Not sure you can lay all the blame for that season's performance on Martinez. The players downed tools and lacked bottle. Don't get me wrong, Bobby was not a good manager, in fact he bordered on inept, but I think a more holistic critique needs to be appliedSo by that standard, Martinez should have been canned in his second year, correct?
