Summer Transfer Window 2017

Hahahahha.

Darn iPad. Just question his strength, pace, his finishing. All okay, but maybe not good enough. Lots of other good qualities. That Fiorentina team is/was fun to watch though.

Arsenal yesterday,

Lacazette and Welbeck from the start,
Giroud and Walcott on the bench, Sanches in the stands,

Really makes you realise how short our squad is of strikers.
Don't forget Lucas Perez..we may too little but they definitely have too many...I expect at least 2 to leave if not it's going to mess up the spirit in the squad

It doesn't really matter how good he used to be. It's what he offers now that's important. I still have my doubts.
You can't fail to be impressed by his attitude and determination to get back playing at a level that would make us challenging for honours again. What I have seen in pre-season is that there is no doubt his football brain is as alert as ever, but sadly he doesn't have the 'legs' anymore to influence games like he did. I'm really hoping I'm wrong on this, but what I've seen is the Rooney we saw in the last 18 months at Old Trafford.

Just think he's limited. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one that declares everyone crap or great. But he's not particularly pacey, nor is he great in the air. He's fine. I just don't see the upside. He doesn't strike me as particularly athletic. His foot skills are fine, okay distribution. He just does nothing outstanding. I like that he's aggressive and tough.

Keane is much better in the air, seems more athletic, and obviously has the length to be one of the best CB in England.

Just don't see Gibson having that kind of upside. I can kind of see how he could be more of the ball winner in front of Keane, but not sure he's better than Williams, nor do I envision him ever going to be.

I think he's a little better than that but appreciate the balanced response. He's definitely better than Williams, much more competent on the ball and definitely quicker.

I'm not saying he's a star player but would be a solid, achievable target who would improve us. Also feel he's the most viable left sided CB we can get right now.

All about opinions though!

I would go for Teodorczyk up front. Bit of a gamble but I reckon we could get him for a reasonable price and he does have a good record.

It's a good thing but there has to be a balance. Our first team needs investment far more than the youth team does. We were already producing good players before we started spending millions on young players like we have done this season. I think the first team has to be the priority now. What looked like a great transfer window early on has left us with a first 11 which is probably weaker than it was last season at present.
It doesn't have to be one or the other, both sides can and should be improved in conjunction. As to the quality of the youth side, as good as it undoubtedly is ,history tells us very few will make the massive step up to adult football. We appear to be bringing in young players who are much closer in ability to first team football, and sourcing them from further afield, which is a good thing for me.
As for the first team , we are clearly finding it more challenging bringing in the last 3 players we need, than we did the first batch. We are not alone in this , and it is the nature of the transfer window. It isn't ideal but the transfer window is still open for a few more weeks yet, and for most this is a time when the main transactions take place. No need to panic, yet.
