Could Tierney be that left sided defender Koeman craves? In this article it says Celtic have even played him at centre half. I really like the look of this lad, what I've seen of him.

Seems to me that mirallas has lost his pace and unless hes central then hes a waste of time

maybe bro, pace can drift off with age, but we haven't seen a huge amount of the Belge flyer, just a few little stints here and there. If things click into place he could be a cracking player for us still. That said, I'm sure Lookman will shine here; he has a cheekiness I really like. Little scamp.

I've said this in another thread. One of my best mates is a Celtic fan, he raves about Tierney; said the lad is quality (he can't believe a premier league club hasn't come in for him). Whereas dembele although very talented, he doesn't think he's quite ready for the Premiership. He spoke highly of VVD and Wanyama when they were there, it's just a pity we didn't show an interest in these 2 earlier.

We do need a centre half/ left back but it was obvious today that a striker was missing, it should have been the priority all summer if the plan was for Sandro to play wide.

Or, they had another plan which we don't know the details of , which they either failed to pull off, or which involved starting the season with such poor forward options.

I don't think you can judge that until the window closes. It's a huge frustration of the current system that the season starts 3 weeks before the window closes, and as we have seen - year in, year out - so much vital business is done only at the very end of the window when targets free up.

With all the will in the world, you can't write a plan that says we'll get all our first choice targets before the season starts.
