Sigurdsson would've tore Stoke apart in the second half. I seriously don't think some of you realize how nasty he is. Rooney on one side and Siggy on the other and look out. Get someone dangerous in a box and it'll be a fun season. When Stoke was packed in during the second half, it was just crying out for a CF to bury a few of those chances or for a midfielder to just blast one in from the 25. Rooney was okay on free kicks, but if you bring in a target guy and get Siggy out there, my heavens. Klassen wasn't good today, but he was being asked to play in a ridiculous position in a ridiculous formation.
Pickford's distribution is terrific, but Keane's footskills are also good. Jags and Williams passing the ball on that side was just embarrassing. If we are going to play 3 in the back, we HAVE to have someone that can move the ball better.

I've said this many times during the summer we are one injury or knock to Keane away then we are back to last seasons defensive pairing!!! CB and striker (and I don't mean sigurdsson)are priority before the next game I never want to see williams and jags together again!!

Tbf here Kone was quite decent in Holland; he scored 49 goals in his time there (4 years; and a bit of a ruined season after malaria). Klaassen (44 in 6 years) - he's a midfielder however.

Actually a fan of Holgate as a CB. Still needs to bulk up a bit but, defensively, he's sound.

At that moment, no. I meant no centre-back is worth 60 million unless he's that sort of calibre. VVD is a 30 mil CB- how much better is he than Keane? Actually not better in my opinion. 60 million for a CB should one that becomes a core player for a decade, not some overrated ex-Celtic player or some Napoli centre back who's name nobody can spell.

- The Express says Spurs are confident they can tie up a deal for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley before the end of this transfer window. The Daily Mail report Tottenham will withdraw their interest in Barkley if they are successful in their attempt to sign Papa Cheikh Diop and Davinson Sanchez.
- According to The Mirror, Everton will finally seal the signature of Swansea midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson this week. The transfer will trigger a £20m move of Nacer Chadlie from West Brom to Swansea. The Express report Everton and Swansea will talk again in the next few days to finally conclude negotiations. The Daily Mail also suggests the deal 'is not far away'.
