Summer Transfer Window 2017

Seemed like an odd strategy to keep sending in high balls when it was only Rooney and Lookman waiting in the middle

He didn't.

Two - three crosses were 'high' or looping.

The others were usually fizzed in. We should have bagged another two goals in that first half, really.

He's lost it though mate.

He may get it back, but just doesn't look arsed atm.

Isn't exactly going to suit Koeman's style either.

Possibly. I'm just thinking of a striker than can do it at this level.

And as for the latter mate do we really know what koemans style is? It's talk of a big target man but we just don't know a number 9 is a striker big or small lol long as he's no John spencer like lol lol

...13 days and 15 hours of the window left I reckon. Bony would be a real risk, I'm always suspicious of players losing their hunger after being at City on mega bucks and not playing. His loan spell at Stoke could underline that view.

Wouldn't go within a county road mile of him.

Need proven in ability AND attitude,

Wouldn't shock me if we looked at teams who are looking at dropping out the CL by playoffs or EL the same way, those clubs are gonna see a big 10-40m whole appear in their projected finances this season.

Wagner at hoffenheim, the loser of the napoli vs nice game, possibly Ajax and a few other decent sides could be vulnerable to bids.

I dint like him at all. But one thing Martina can do is cross a ball, evident its why he was brought in, which means we are 100% after a target man type.

...he's a 'safe' crosser for me. By that I mean he'll hit a very decent cross where he receives a pass, I doubt you'll see him get the ball and look to go past his opposite number like Coleman does. Very useful if you're a striker, though, because you'll know what's coming.

I've been critical but he played well last night.

Giroud or Costa would be such good options right now, but I sadly can't see us signing either of them

Dembele is out till September, so he's off the table as well

It's going to end up being someone like Deeney or Rondon isn't it?

Now would have been a great time to unleash a fit Berahino with a full pre season behind him. Alas, it was not to be

Berahino is absolutely crap mate.

Rondon could come in short term I suppose and would hold it up when in the mood. I do think if there is serious money still available we need to spend big on this centre forward - such a shame that Giroud turned us down

I think they mentioned it on the commentary last night but his overlapping runs at times are odd and the positions he gets himself seem to be in the way of Lookman but actually i thought he played well. He put in 2 or 3 crosses first half that a Giroud or Ferguson of old would have loved.

Berahino is going to have a good season mate, I'm sure of it

I don't know which big costing centre forward would come here mate, that's the issue

If we do well this season, then we may be able to attract a "name" striker next summer, so maybe we need to get a "budget*" option for this season and hope they come up trumps?

*Budget it in this market is probably 20 million because football is broken

I actually only realised Berahino was playing on Saturday when his number went up for him to be substituted
