We have the cash didn't need to sell to buy. Insisted on 100m if selling in prem or sold him abroad (to a non rival team) for alot less 50m or so . He had already scored 3 goals in man us first 2 games. If we hadn't have sold him then he still had 2 years on contract.

We are more wealthier than the time when BK was in charge (or is he still?), yes but we aren't Chelski and Citch or Man U. We simply cannot afford to keep a moaner in the dressing room who was crying to go whenever he was away from the club. That was the reality. He said staying at Everton beyond this summer was not an option. Honestly I don't want someone who may go AWOL and risked of losing 30 million pounds or so next summer. You can insist for whatever sum you want unless you are the money club. This is unrealistic.

Lukaku is a quality finisher he will always score goals. And look who his teammates are and how much they had costed.

I wanted Giroud massively but sadly someone messed the deal up. We should have had a big name lined up to immediately replace lukaku but again for some reason hadn't that planned. I'd take a Slimani type (not necessarily him specifically) but someone similar if Walsh fancies them. Essential that they can do a job and get at least double figures tho. It's not ideal tbh.

Giroud was my first choice, as well. Wouldn't hate Slimani but don't think it's very inspiring. Wonder if Walsh can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

If people just want a lump up top then that Serbian donkey at Newcastle could do a lumps job. I am in no way saying I want us to sign him.

Why does suddenly everyone think we would've gotten more for Lukaku? Did I miss when another striker got 100M? Morata was pretty well thought of and he went for what 65M? Lacazette for 53M, yet we think 90M and Wayne Rooney for Lukaku is bad?
