If we can't convince a 30 year old perennial bench warmers to join us in the year of the players last chance at a WC, then that's quite poor tbh.

How so? If the player isnt keen, and is confident getting a WC place staying at Arsenal/in London, (where he is apparently very happy living), you move on.

Who we move on to is anyones guess mind.

Cos he is trying to wind people up...

I'm absolutely not winding up. Giroud, a bench warmer, is exactly the sort of player we need to be attracting. We'd obviously done well overall, but I find it hard to believe we couldn't have done a better job getting a deal done. I don't see Giroud as someone who is content with 15 minutes a week and starting league cup games. Maybe I'm wrong.

That's my main criticism. We shouldn't have been selling lukaku until we were 100% sure we had a top name replacement. The club as a whole takes preference over moody Lukaku and his snake agent.

Kind of agree with this. As positive as the other signings are, there was always a need to replace Lukaku.

So, you reckon it would be good if we had Rom still here, (we havnt signed a replacement yet, which is a worry, granted), United wait and wait and wait, he goes in a week, for probably loads less, when we have tidied up a late deal for a Deeny/Sliamne/etc?

I know some love to slam the club for sell to buy, etc etc etc, but the Rom deal allowed us to get Pickford, Keane, et al, early, and in hindsight, at good prices.

As for Giroud, just cos a transfer doesnt happen, the default position of "someone mucked up" is a bit childish.

You have no idea if an agreement was in place beforehand with a player, things fall through. Lukaku needed to binned off, he was a two headed, fork tongue, rat eating serpent who would have stunk the place out while pining for his basketball playing lover boy.

We in a stronger position than we were 6 weeks ago, there's no argument there

Yep, I am not sorry he has gone. We will miss his goals but not his dressing room presence. He is replaceable due to rarely being the difference in crunch games.

His best performance for Man United was in an Everton shirt at Wembley.

Giroud been my one hope this summer. As gutted as you he won't come. Dzeko or Agbon....sorry I mean Bentekr as 2nd/3rd choices. For me.

Bit harsh on serpents if you ask me.
