Summer Transfer Window 2017

It's unreal. I screw it up half the time. Movie is Das Boot, player is Bas Dost.

Dost would score goals, but yeah, not sure how well he'd bring people into the game, link up play, etc.

Jose is super talented, just think in the right team he could be close to an elite player, but he is still a risk. Wonder if Sandro thinks he's just a lot better than Jose, or we just think Jose is not a finished product. But he really seems to give us a lot of what I think we need.

Mandzukic would be the perfect fit. Not sure he likes playing out wide for that club, but hey, it's Juve. At his age, you'd think Juve would want to cash in, too. He's Costs like in terms of pure annoyance, without being a team killer. Plus, it'd [Poor language removed] the Split supporters, so can we make that happen this week?

The reliable Dom King in April had us down as being very close to signing Willian Jose and even said Walsh was trying to negotiate the deal and get it tied up ahead of the summer yet it's gone very quiet. Maybe we changed targets and went for Sandro instead but their completely different types of striker. Who knows, maybe something with him may happen late on in the window?

I wouldn't mind Mandzukic if I'm being honest....

Don't know why but I get the feeling there could be a twist in the Giroud situation. One the bench again yesterday and they have Liverpool next with Sanchez back and I can't see him starting that game either and he can't surely be happy about that. Plus he said himself he wouldn't want another season of being mainly on the bench, which its started out that way for him again and there's a World Cup coming up next year so he needs to be starting games every week nearly to keep his place in the France team/squad so IF he is on the bench again next weekend, I think things could change on the Giroud front, especially if we make enough of a noise about wanting him!
Part of me thinks Koeman is holding out for this too. Bit like Russian roulette if true.

If it does happen at least he could slot straight into the team. Had a full pre-season and looked sharp off the bench for Arsenal in their two games so far.

Hopefully somebody not utterly rubbish like this Woods fella.

Somebody whos had more than 1 good season in their career hopefully.

This fella.

Or this fella.

Immobile is decent but he's only ever done well in Italy. Failed at both Dortmund & Sevilla, plus he's a small CF and not exactly the "target man type" that Koeman wants.

Dost is but could he hack it in the prem? And Sporting won't or should I say don't sell cheaply!

It's on, straight back in training as soon as he hears Koeman is interested.

The present window is getting tight for investing a LOT of money on a main target man/striker!
If...Costa would even be interested in playing at Everton for even 4 Months or a season... If Chelsea want the competition from another Premiership Team is another factor!
Costa has to play in a competitive league to get into the Spain World cup squad...sitting it out for a number of months in Brazil or Spain isn't an option for him.
Could Diego Costa & Ron get along Professionally for a number of Months?
Does he have what it take to make an Impression in the Premiership...given that he has a point to make (Axe to grind ?)
My guess would be if he DID play for Everton he would be a Deadly striker!

Remember the 2015/16 season for Chelsea he was... Rock & Roll

I think Koeman is definitely keeping his eye on this one in hope the situation does change, I mean, why else have we not moved on to other strikers? Surely if we really felt that the Giroud deal was dead in the water, we'd of moved on and be making noises with regards to other targets yet things are relatively quiet on the striker front for us!

I don't think (Even in Europe!) there are THAT many World class Strikers to choose from ...given the inflated market we are in!
That is why Getting a proven Striker & sending the scouting team to work in the January Transfer window may be the only practical solution.

They have had 12months to find somebody, if they cant find a striker in that time they need sacking, all of them.

I could find a striker in a week.

I just watched a 10 min YouTube video of all of his goals from last season. Only one header.

Swerve.

It's not necessarily about headed goals that Koeman is looking for in a No.9. He wants a target man that will get goals but also get to grips with the ball and look after it and link play in the final third...

I think Giroud is probably dead in the water....He has shown NO inclination for a move away from Arsenal.
Have there been any recent Quotes from him showing discontent?

Missed a major trick not getting that Maguire in. Left sided CB and looks better every time I see him

Started the season very well hasn't he, looks a snip at just over £17m! But he's not left footed which Koeman seems to be looking for. He wants a left sided, left footed defender that can also play at LB IF needed....

But we're not gonna get a world class striker are we. Is Giroud world class? I wouldn't say so but he's a very good striker. There is very good strikers out there that would be good for us.

Think people need to get it out of their heads that we need a world class striker. It would be nice but it isn't going to happen this season. So we go for a very good one that can be got at and who would come in and do the right job and get us goals.
