Would do me fine that, want our lads nowhere near the shambles that is the national side
Bang on, the amount of injuries our lads pick up on international duty or in meaningless testimonials/friendlies etc.. is insane. We have loads crocked and almost none of them happened during competitive fixtures for Everton.

Where are the 12 black shirts? Barry is gone. Unless you think both McCarthy and Besic are reliable enough to back-up Gana and Schneiderlin.

I rate Besic and McCarthy, although I don't think JM will be here in 2 weeks.

Also, is there a law we have to play with 2 holding midfielders? Davies can certainly do a job deeper as well in a pinch.

Given their injury records in recent years...and you agree McCarthy will be gone in 9 days.

Defo one holding midfielder in each match under Koeman. Davies for me is not a DM or holding midfielder. Someone like Dendoncker (can be others)fits the bill? People saying £20m for a third option in Gana and Schneiderlin' positions but there you have £45m in Barkley and McCarthy who are about to leave and will not play. If we want a cheap option we should not let Barry leaves...

I keep seeing McCarthy listed as a player likely to leave and I disagree completely.
Koeman likes McCarthy and by allowing Barry to leve he would leave midfield very thin if McCarthy and Barkley leave as well and we all know Barkley is gone.

Tom Davies is going to be a fine player but we can't expect too much from him or any of the youngsters over a full season, they will have good and bad patches.

We have so many new faces in the squad, the manager will want to keep as many familiar faces as possible.

McCarthy is at the age that Koeman likes, the age of a player who should be at his peak.
McCarthy has had a bad history for injuries in the last two seasons, but was quite good before that. A lot of the problems were of his own makingand I would expect this was addressed by Koeman and McCarthy during the summer.

Well it seems that is not working well between Koeman and Barkley.

I guess Ireland is his priority?

If those issue can be addressed that was well before the summer. In a recent conference, I remembered Koeman mentioning Besic as an option and did not say a word on McCarthy.

To be fair I think McCarthy is ok when he cares.

Was saying the same, when Walker went off Koeman should have been a bit braver and took the game to City, Lookman with his pace, skill would have give City something to think about, instead we allowed them to start dictating the game as we got deeper and deeper.

I think Kev or Lookman on instead of Siggy and kept Williams...packed up in the central defence then maybe we may hold on. This sounds like Moyes but I don't mind 1-0. But Koeman did want Siggy to get match fitness. I see what Koeman was trying to do after 60 mins when he made the subs. He was having a go at getting a 2nd goal.
