Summer Transfer Window 2017

This utterly stinks of Enner Valencia type signing on deadline day.

That's been my hunch too, and I'm not sure that's the worst thing in the world. The striker is a signing they need to get right, and if the right player isn't available, they shouldn't pay a fortune for a third or fourth tier option.

They'll need to roll the dice eventually (probably no later than next summer), but the club have a spent a lot of money to build a team that will be competitive for many years beyond this season. Panicking will only make future success more difficult.

I suppose it depends how serious the "owner" is, theres players out there that could kick us on, but they will cost MAJOR money, for all the money we have spent, this 1 player will define our season for me.

3 players Gana, Schneiderlin and the new player to play in 2 DM/CM roles why not? 55 games plus this season. Yesterday was the time when we need a proper DM when Schneiderlin got a yellow.

Davies and Klaaseen play in the more advance midfield role.

Barkley, Lennon, McCarthy, Robles, Niasse. That's where you get your money from lol.

And where do we get the money from for the Striker and the CB?

If we have a "spare" 20m lying around at the end of the window, I would rather we spent it on ANOTHER winger rather than ANOTHER DM.

I keep seeing McCarthy listed as a player likely to leave and I disagree completely.
Koeman likes McCarthy and by allowing Barry to leve he would leave midfield very thin if McCarthy and Barkley leave as well and we all know Barkley is gone.

Tom Davies is going to be a fine player but we can't expect too much from him or any of the youngsters over a full season, they will have good and bad patches.

We have so many new faces in the squad, the manager will want to keep as many familiar faces as possible.

McCarthy is at the age that Koeman likes, the age of a player who should be at his peak.
McCarthy has had a bad history for injuries in the last two seasons, but was quite good before that. A lot of the problems were of his own makingand I would expect this was addressed by Koeman and McCarthy during the summer.
Wonder if Martin O Neil agrees.

Was saying the same, when Walker went off Koeman should have been a bit braver and took the game to City, Lookman with his pace, skill would have give City something to think about, instead we allowed them to start dictating the game as we got deeper and deeper.
Did you not see how much he gave the ball to Split? Split wasnt able to punish us because of it, but you can bet your ass City would have. We might have gotten another goal, city would get 3.

I don't think that's unfair, but there's a difference between being fiscally responsible and being smart with investment. Even if Moshiri was willing to pay £80m for a striker and pay him £200k a week, there's still a lot of other things the club can do with that money. The powers that be would have to be convinced that the player(s) to whom you refer are the smartest use of that cash.

The money for the striker and the CB/LB is already there
RK wouldn't have said he wants 2 more if he knew the money wasn't available.
Bill still thinking he's spending the money from the concession sales at the theatre i.e. his own money and not the clubs.
RK will blow a fuse shortly like he did with the Morgan saga and Moshiri will make Bill get it done.
