Summer Transfer Window 2017

While I don't entirely disagree with what @bluestevon has said, you can't keep players that don't want to be here and expect it to be fruitful.

Rom and Ross have brought us nothing in terms of success, so if they wanted to go then so be it. We're not doing anything wrong in getting the best possible fee for either of them.

What is disappointing is that the striker search has gone down to the wire.

I did expect it, but at the same time I thought that would be as we were holding out for our number one target.

That may well still be the case, but at the same time it's also looking desperate as we enter the final few days.

Now, that's on the club. It's the board and Walsh and yes to an extent Koeman to blame - though only in the sense of the possibility he has held deals up, though I think that's unlikely.

It may be that the waiting pays off though, and we do get our target in. In which case it'll be well played by all involved.

We were efficient in our business at the start of the window. A window which was always going to be about moving players out who either didn't want to be here or aren't good enough for where we want to go - and which would distort fees - which is why the sell-to-buy brigade are talking wham.

We've improved the squad, but yes, still need improvements in 2 areas. One of these, the striker, should have been sorted by now and Walsh and the board must take the flak for that.

But, let's just wait and see.

...I think that is a very measured and considered view. 1 day 14 hours 30 mins left of the window will tell us more.

Aye oft used phrase, but this is a very very important last few days mate, it will reveal what level of ambition (on the pitch) the club actually has...

All our transfers so far have been heavily linked before happening. There is nothing credible about a striker or CB, I predict we will get neither. No way will we get any qualittle signings over the line in the next 36 hours

My biggest issue is a fear factor, we don't have one yet, I.e on match day v utd you would be thankful if lukaku Mata and matic was injured with Chelsea William hazard Pedro fabragas etc, when the top six are playing us is there anyone in our squad that the opposing fans would love to be injured ? I'm guessing not really and that's the problem here, I don't think we would hear thank God sandro or klassen is injured etc

These next 36 hours are crucial for our first marquee signing otherwise like stated previous this is going to be a long hard slog of a season

Sadly this is the truth.

We've sold our two most productive players from last year.

No matter what way we spin this, Moshiri is clearly NOT trying to turn Everton into contenders.

We have precisely zero played who when they get the ball you have a hope they can do something a bit special with it now, the brand of football we are playing requires everyone to do their job very very effectively to work, given we haven't got a centre forwards for this system, and we lack a centre half on the left for it too, our fullbacks also arent suited to it, then i am left a bit lost about exactly why or what we are attempting to do besides for Koeman to get rid of anyone who was a feature of a Martinez team.

Footy is about results but it also has to be about a bit of excitement, the current side lacks anyone who can bring that.

Given this manager will be gone anyway in 2 years tops then whoever follows will have a very workmanlike side with little in the way of spark to it

Steve mate...

Rooney, Sigurdsson, Davies, Sandro, Bolasie.

They've all shown either here or at previous clubs they're very capable of that. Heck, one of them just scored a 50-yard volley to put us in Europe.

We're looking to add a few more in. It shouldn't have gone on so long and if a repeat of last year happens then serious questions must be asked of certain members of the board when it comes to getting the late deals done.

Barkley and Lukaku have brought us nothing. We don't owe them anything. We got a massive fee for Rom and if Ross wants to go then we can't risk losing him for free. I'd rather bring in £40m.
