While I don't entirely disagree with what @bluestevon has said, you can't keep players that don't want to be here and expect it to be fruitful.
Rom and Ross have brought us nothing in terms of success, so if they wanted to go then so be it. We're not doing anything wrong in getting the best possible fee for either of them.
What is disappointing is that the striker search has gone down to the wire.
I did expect it, but at the same time I thought that would be as we were holding out for our number one target.
That may well still be the case, but at the same time it's also looking desperate as we enter the final few days.
Now, that's on the club. It's the board and Walsh and yes to an extent Koeman to blame - though only in the sense of the possibility he has held deals up, though I think that's unlikely.
It may be that the waiting pays off though, and we do get our target in. In which case it'll be well played by all involved.
We were efficient in our business at the start of the window. A window which was always going to be about moving players out who either didn't want to be here or aren't good enough for where we want to go - and which would distort fees - which is why the sell-to-buy brigade are talking wham.
We've improved the squad, but yes, still need improvements in 2 areas. One of these, the striker, should have been sorted by now and Walsh and the board must take the flak for that.
But, let's just wait and see.
