If Drinkwater does leave Leicester.. maybe they mighy come in for Mccarthy ? Wasn't there interest in him from then earlier in window ? Re strikers still think Dzeko or Das Bost could come into play

Absolutely nothing will happen, no one will go out no one will come in. E V E R T O N
Sounds like.
Especially if you say it quickly.
There simply cannot be any 'excuse' though and they know this, we've needed a main striker for weeks. I simply can't imagine a scenario were everyone at the club would've just assumed that Sandro would come in and hit the ground running, that would be incredibly short-sighted.Do any of those players get you off your seat when they receive the ball mate?
May sound a silly question, but in some ways i don't think it is.
I wouldn't say the issue is late deals either btw, i would say the issue is deliberately leaving 'attempts' at deals late, because frankly that gives a lovely excuse of running out of time - an excuse which a lot of people do indeed accept.
but we take 48 hours on transfers..... WE'RE DOOMED!38 hrs to go
Of milk?I was pretty certain we'd sign Costa, but for some reason I keep hearing the voice of the EvertonTV commentator in my head saying Michy Batshuayi. I have been drinking a lot recently though.
Bloody hell mate. Has Dave stolen your laptop? As it stands right as of now, our major interest and activity seems to be trying to get the best possible fee for the last remaining very talented player remaining from when Koeman took charge.
Whatever the variety of reasons for players being sold (and as of now the sell to buy brigade have every rigth to state this is the major reason for sales - and nothing has effectively changed besides us receiving such a huge fee that it enabled a misdirection on that fact by the numbers brought in with that Lukaku money)
BUT it is unmistakable that once Lukaku was sold the transfer activity ground to an absolute halt, sigurdsson deal aside which frankly became a bit of a pantomime and seemed to absorb every last persons interest involved in transfer activity at the club.
as of right now, i would pick ;last seasons Everton team with Barkley and Lukaku in it to beat the current one, i also think that clubs below us have strengthened the teams or will do so in the remaining couple of days more than we have, all besides Arsenal above us have strengthened better than we have as well, and throw in the extra European games we will have this season and i can see us points wise slipping down on last year and 2-3 teams below improving significantly.
Pointed out a whilst ago that as of this moment we are an injury away from a Martina/Jagielka/Williams/Baines back 4 and with no recognized striker.
Removing the blue tinted specs, if it was another team with our squad and with our business this summer in 7th that we where chasing i would feel they had weakened and would hope to catch them, and that is a big worry
Cause he's been john wick for Arsenal
I'm still hoping we pull a very good striker out the bag mate or they will look very stupid and will send our supporters into meltdown.. getting a striker to replace Lukakus goals was never really going to happen, but to not have one of the strikers he wants already signed up is poor tbh. As you say it may all look rosy in 48 hours. Let's hope so... I believe that the top two on his list are still not dead deals hence why we haven't gone and signed his 3rd 4th 5th choice..Players leaving isn't an issue mate, unless it looks like we haven't even planned for it happening, both United and Chelsea lost their star strikers this season, both went out and made a new one their second signing made.
We seemed to prioritize a replacement for Barkley - well two in fact in Klassen and Sigurdsson, we brought in a replacement for valencia/kones role before it, Mirallas problems arise and within 24 hours we move for this Croatian lad as a replacement effectively for him, yet 7 weeks on (and let's face it that 7 week figure is giving the board a huge benefit of doubt that the deal wasn't struck many many weeks/months prior) and we are acting very much like West Ham do in their 'search' for a striker last season.
as for the sell to buy talking wham mate, maybe they are, but ultimately you look at the figures, i have very rarely seen a manager not choosing to spend the money he has available to him, so if we don't spend much more than we bring in, it would suggest he was given a budget, and given a further budget which factored in player sales or a percentage of that figure he would receive, that very much is a sell to buy model.
This post could be entirely pointless in two days, or it could be very very relevant, only the next couple of days will show us really.
Will add something btw to this, IF we are failing to bring in a quality striker, then the club should 100% stop any sale of Barkley, it shouldn't even be under consideration.
I think it's clear that we won't be bringing any big-name striker in, and are going to have to compromise significantly, but I still hope we can get someone in who could at least have a decent crack at getting 12-15 goals.
Same for LB cover, it won't be anyone of significance, but we need cover there as well.
If we get two more in plus Vlasic, on top of the business we have already done, then I'll consider the overall window a qualified success.
If we don't get a striker in, then it's yet another thundering disappointment for us fans, and huge question marks over what is it we actually want to acheive this year.
With the sales, I think we were always going to be hard pushed to achieve a big net-spend, and that's coming from someone who considers it relatively more important than others.
At present, I would have more questions to ask regarding Walsh and Koeman regarding the selection of targets, particularly of Walsh as the signings to date haven't really included anyone in the more obscure/cheaper/younger category who would be first-team squad ready, apart from potentially Vlasic.
Friday morning in here if we balance the books by selling McCarthy, Barkley and Lennon is going to be a bit lively
Fingers crossed mate.
