Summer Transfer Window 2017

It really is put-up or shut-up time for our board this summer. If our squad is not significantly stronger at the end of the transfer window then his tenure of major shareholder has been a failure so far in my eyes. Every soundbyte so far, be it from Kenwright ("If the player wants to join us we'll get him") or Koeman ("the board will back me this summer") has made is clear major funds will be provided. We all thought it would happen last summer but didn't, that cannot happen again.

The thing that surprised me most is that Sigurdsson is making £80k p/w at Swansea. Are any of our players on that much?

That being said we've needed this kind of player for a long time so I'll be pleased if it happens.

Just as an aside, if I was Dries, I'd be staying put.

It's sunny, warm and he's a fan favourite/star player at one of Italy's biggest clubs who regularly attain CL football.

Think he wants to stay by all accounts, but the problem is his wife wants out of Italy and has already left and living back home in Belgium mate.

Career wise he is working for the perfect manager for him and don't see this seasons form being replicated elsewhere

Would still have him though an amazing little player

Every time i try suggest otherwise i get shot down.

Is he that good he's competing with the best in that position of the Europa League? or even Champions league clubs? i sadly think nowhere near.
Could end up like your name sake, big fish from a small pool, bit like Ashley Williams, hope I am wrong.

Excellent, he can do similar for us. Granted we do not have anyone nearly as good in the air.

That's kind of the issue, he can drop the ball perfectly in the right spot, but if we don't have anyone there or capable of winning it then ultimately pointless.

Bolasie is on £80k per week, allegedly

Schneiderlin was on over £100k pw at Man Utd, so reasonable to assume we at least matched what he was earning

Dunno what Lukaku earns

wouldn't start nearly doubling people like sigurdssons wages though me, he should be grateful to get another chance at a better team about to play in Europe, under a great football man, a new stadium on the horizon. mercenary

Logically speaking, if he's the stand out player in a poor team it means he's still delivered despite inevitably being the soul focus of all opposing managers.

You'd assume he'd thrive with the freedom of being in a better midfield?

Charlie Adam likes this.

I've watched Spurs since the '50s, they had the greatest double winning side of all time, and we took their mantle 2 years later. Spurs can
boast Greaves, Mackay & Blanchflower, .......... Hoddle, Waddle & Gascoigne, and latterly,........... Modric & Bale.True world class!
Even United would struggle to beat that line up. This Spurs team now this season, were out 4th round League Cup, the F.A. Cup the first
Prem club they played, the Champions League easiest group and finished 3rd, beaten in first game of Europa Cup by Gent (Without an 'H') ,
and runners up to John Terrys boot boys. I do believe the current coincidence that this Spurs team are not a patch on the '61 Double side,
as in Scotland the current Celtic side who have won just about everything, are still not a patch on the Lisbon Lions. If and when Ross leaves
us, I hope that he will go to someone that appreciates him. Ross! you've brought me nothing but JOY. GOOD LUCK MY SON.

Granted but like I said, he's not as good as any of the Spurs starting attackers so he'd be going there for a bench role.
